Our stay here was amazing! We loved everything about this home - it's location to the city, it's coziness, the view, and the host! We spent the weekend here with our pup and Steven was more than helpful and gave us such good recommendations to the city. The home has such charm and provides everything you need.....and my husband and I constantly talked about how we would love to return one day. Just wonderful!
Everything about our experience here was top-notch! Steven was a welcoming and very accommodating host, meeting us for both check-in and check-out, and helping us with our bags, providing neighborhood guides and information. I was working across the street at the Kaufmann Center, and the commute can't be beat. The apartment was clean, functional, quiet, and filled with natural light. Really enjoyed the Nespresso machine! Internet is fast and reliable, parking was easy, loved the Vizio speaker, and really have no complaints. Loved being within walking distance to two vegan restaurants, Fud and Cafe Gratitude. We'll be back! Thanks, Steven!
Great location and very convenient apartment.
3 of our Team members from France were in KC for a week and needed to be close to our office and downtown.
Steven was very helpful and accomodating. The checkin and checkout process was very easy and our colleagues enjoyed their stay very much.
Two phases to this review, the place and the host:
1. Steven was great. Easily accessible if needed and met us on our first night. Easily exchanged emails prior to our stay. I had many questions as it was our first abb experience. He gave a ton of info and was readily available. also, we had to cut our stay in half (out of our hands). He was accommodating and fair. He did not have to be, but that type of stuff is really appreciated.
2. The place....now knowing some of the history, man what a great remodel of an old house. I have remodeled some homes and kept telling my wife things he did that I liked. One bedroom (very comfy) and one bath. Well furnished for the trip. Fully ready with a very comfy sectional sofa (and sleeper if need be) and big tv that has streaming apps readily available.
Overall it is a fantastic house. It is priced so much better than even the cheapest of hotel suites you fill find. With the freeway access so close, you are close to any district you might want to be at or go to. We used uber to get around and for about $12.00 round-trip, it cannot be beat. Nice fenced backyard for our pups. W/D for extended stay and well equipped for every day needs.
The neighborhood is as described. Its an old blue collar neighborhood. It isn't the prettiest (read, subdivision) but it was just fine. We walked around and never felt uncomfortable at all.
We will be back and will stay here and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation.
past reviews I read:
ceiling cracks are an old house that has been remodeled. Zero impact on the house or a concern. The downstairs to the basement and w/d....we took a baby gate as an extra precaution for the pups but it truly was not needed.
incredibly accommodating host and residence.
Steve was awesome. This house was loved by those of us staying in it. The experience with Steve was the best part of coming to the American Royal livestock show. Thanks for your (website hidden). Thank Anna also.
I have a feeling she's always listening in, but I'll pass it along in my prayers. You two were cut from the same cloth ...which is high praise.
The cottage was fun! The view over Kansas City, mo is really nice and the cottage was just like described. Steven was great to work with and I enjoyed chatting with him. It was super easy to get to all Kansas City offers.
A co-worker and I stayed here on a work trip and had a great experience. I don't know why we would ever use a hotel after this stay! The apartment was as great as it looks in photos, is in a great central location, and Steven was extremely helpful & responsive to any questions. I do recommend using the parking pass he provides instead of the street parking - the garage is just on the next block. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone, and I hope to stay here again next time I'm in KC!
Steven was an exellent host, we really had a great time in his wonderful apt. It was nice, clean, cosy and had enough space for us. everything was perfect and if we had a problem we could call Steven and he came over and helped us. We loved the building in this interesting city. Steven even offered us a guided tour to the museum. But there wasn't enough time unfortunately to take the opportunity.. I can really recommend this apartment!
the only problem I had was - my English.
We had a very delightful experience. From booking, through preparations, and check-in, Steven was thoughtful, patient, and generous. He made sure we had everything we needed and then more. His suggestions for activities and experiences added fun to our trip.
The house was a charming, warm, and inviting space to be in. We greatly appreciated the modern plumbing in an old house, and knowing that we could use the washer and dryer made it easy for us to pack light. We also LOVED the fast and reliable wi-fi.
The location was perfect for us. Being so close to the highways made it easy to get around town. The view was beautiful and peaceful. The neighborhood was quiet and easy to navigate.
Overall, we truly loved our time in this house. Staying here made this one of the best trips to Kansas City we have ever had.
My sisters were in town for three nights visiting our Dad for Father’s Day, he was at KU Medical recovering from surgery. The apt location was so convenient, only three miles from the hospital. Also, we’re from Overland Park, KS and never really got to experience downtown KC growing up – staying in Steven’s place gave us that opportunity. We were right in the middle of everything – Union Station and Crown Center are down the street and down the other way is a quaint area with shops and restaurants.
Steven is a phenomenal host!! He’s very quick to respond and really cares about his guests’ experience. He’s got all the bases covered – Want to know about great places to visit or eat in the area? – He’s put together a guide. Details about how to connect to the Wifi, use the espresso machine, park? He’s got it all neatly laid out in a binder. Plus, Steven is as gracious as it gets. My sister thought she left earrings at the apt and my other sister thought she left her Kindle – I messaged Steven and he was all over it contacting the cleaning people right away. My sisters ended up finding their stuff but we so appreciate Steven’s vigilance - and to top it all off he left us bagels, cream cheese and eggs in the fridge!
The apt is great, very clean, soft sheets and pillows and plenty of towels. The apt has plenty of places to sit and hang out and the kitchen is spacious and open with everything you would need to cook. We invited our mom over for dinner and ate at the table on the back porch with that fantastic view of the Kauffman Center – she was telling all of her friends what a gem of a place we found on Airbnb!
Steven and Cynthia were perfect guests. Very friendly and polite. They took very good care of our guest house. I would welcome them back any time they are in Vegas, and I would recommend them to any other Airbnb guests.
Steven and his daughter Camille were a delight. Friendly, respectful, and clean. Airbnb guests are the best in the world!
