Response from Carolyn:
We tried to be fair to Sharon, but she has not been fair to us. Number 1) The door to Sharon's apartment does not lock automatically when it closes, so you have to lock it from the outside. If you let go of it when it is open, it does slam. This happened once and Sharon complained, so when we left we were very careful not to let it happen again. Sharon did not mention until we arrived that it would not lock on closing, and we had no way of knowing she would not be awake when we left, so we had no choice but to leave quietly and of course with no key to lock the door from the outside. Number 2) There is not adequate lighting in the hallway to the room, nor in the little bathroom, which also has a problem with the sink: the water drains very slowly so the sink fills up rapidly. Number 3) The room is kind of dingy and so small that the bed and bureau take up nearly all the spce, and the bed had many decorative pillows on it that there is no place for when you need to use the bed, so Sharon said to just put them on the floor. She's right: we're not a good fit.
