A travelling Canadian who is maybe getting a little old for the backpacking scene. I am also an active member of (a synonym for sofa)surfing but I also like the idea of Airbnb (also maybe due to aging :).
I am quite independent. I'm sometimes an introvert, sometimes an extrovert. I like having a quiet night in by myself or having a big night out with friends.
I like to travel and experience different cultures and environments, although I don't always like the collateral damage that it causes as well. I am trying to figure out the balance.
I can only refer to my experience of hosting and being a guest on (a synonym for sofa)surfing, having done both many times. As a guest, I am flexible whether my host would like to socialize or not and always respect their space. As a host, I also try to be flexible with what my guests plan to do. I think those things are probably the key to being a good host or guest: flexibility and respect.
