Overall this apartment could have been great, but was not maintained well and it affected the entire experience. First the common areas of the apartment felt very dirty. The couches were both in horrible shape and both needed to be replaced and rugs were also filthy. Also some basic necessities were not included like soap, toilet paper and paper towels, but I'm not sure if things like that are usually included or not with Airbnb. Location wise the apartment is about 2 block from the beach and about the same to the bus from the airport, but was quite far from the center which is about a 20-25 minute walk. There is a grocery store half a block away which was very convenient. Robert was very responsive throughout the stay and was a good overall host. Overall I think the apartment was overpriced for the shape the apartment was in, but could be improved with some minor changes.
A bit dated apartment but spacious enough for 6...location is fair for the price you paid.... Beach is two blocks away but not the main drag where it is happening. Train station to apartment is a Bit of a hike with the luggage... We bus in from Monaco and took a tram then another bus to get to apartment...Robert was great with direction...
One minor suggestion.. For a 175 Euro.. Cleaning fee... I expect the bathroom has basic toilette supplies... No hand soap for washing not (email hidden) hand soap.....consider the Toliet is separated from shower. the washing Sink is right outside the Toliet door but with no soap. So imagine you finished your business and have to walk to the shower room and wash your hands.... Totally suck.. Supermarket is block away to take care that.....
Overall. This apartment is price fairly and comfortable for 6.
Our experience with Robert and the apartment in Nice couldn't have been better. He was very flexible in meeting us to turn over the keys. He provided good advice in regards to things to do. The apartment is tricky to find but exceeded expectations.
We stayed 4 nights in the appartment of Robert. The check in itself was fast and efficient and done by two friends of Robert: Jenny and Elena. With Robert we only had email contact prior to our arrival. The apartment is pleasant, clean, comfortable and newly renovated wih nice views. The bathroom is perfect with a good shower, the bedroom spacious with a comfortable kingsize bed, the kitchen is very well equipped and there is a cosy sitting area. The flatscreen tv has a wide range of channels. Like other reviewers said, you have to be in a good condition to rent this appartment because you have to climb a steady road and some steps to reach it. Down the steps is a very lively part of Vieux Nice with restaurants and all the shops you need: butchers, bakery shops, delis, supermarkets and even a fish market. A little bit particular is that the host made us pay € 120 extra in cash for cleaning, bedlinen and towels in order to keep the standards. But in fact it increased the daily rent with € 30 in our case. Despite this little "surprise", which does not really come as a surprise because the host let you know before booking, we had a wonderful stay in the apartment.
We stayed at Robert's bright little apartment in Nice for 2 nights. We were met by his a lovely friend (/associate) of his, as Robert was on vacation, and she showed us to the apartment and helped with getting the hang of the place. She then mentioned the 120€ we were supposed to pay in cash upon arrival, which stunned both of us. We are used to a cleaning fee in addition to what we pay via Airbnb, and if I look back on ancient email threads, I see the 120€ stuck in there, but we then spent an hour trying to get in touch with Robert to see if we could leave the cash when we left, as we didn't have that much cash on us having just left Paris! His friend couldn't get in touch with him, and we walked down to the city with her, trying two different banks (there was a hold on my husband's debit card from the bank, as a security measure for international withdrawals but we had not come across it before then!). It sucked a lot of the fun and romance out of the arrival, and 120€ is QUITE high for the rental price, adding more than 50% to the rental per night. However, the apartment was very clean, pretty cozy, and gorgeous location. We loved that there was an "open" feeling kitchen and a washer, as well as a large shower. Cozy bed. Loud (and early!) bells from the next-door church! We would definitely consider returning, and we were happy to find this apartment on somewhat late notice after others we had wishlisted were booked. The area is quite nice and within walking distance to absolutely everything, yet far enough out of the strict touristy area to be a nice stay.
This is an apartment to die for!! Me and my sister went to Nice for the weekend and we kept saying again and again how truly amazing the apartment was! It is i the BEST location - between the old town and the Chateaux - so you can walk to everything in 2 minutes but away from the noise and still get those amazing views!!! Robert has thought of everything and the flat has everything you need - we loved it so much we have dinner one night on the terrace and it was so lovely with sweeping views of Nice!! Robert was great and told us great recommendations and was more than accommodating. It is also incredibly clean and beautifully done up - my one complete is the 120 euro cleaning fee - this is steep and we were only there 2 nights so really added to the cost of the trip!! But if you have the money and you are going to Nice 1000% stay here - couldn't have been happier (except the fee) :)!!!!!
I stayed in this beautiful apartment in old town Nice for four days and I wish it could have been longer! The apartment is beautifully appointed, incrediblely clean, and the kitchen is a dream. The location was superb- 7 minute walk to the beach, 5 minutes to the tram and bus, and incredibly close to restaurants, bars, the market, and castle hill. Robert was a great host- very easy to communicate with, prompt with responses, and gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants. I would absolutely stay here again.
We were glad to visit Nice, The apartment was very pleasant to us! it has beautiful interior, fine location in the center of the old city!
Great vacation in great flat.Thank you very much. All the description is true.Location is super, 5 minutes from the beach, 1 minute from big supermarket. Robert came in time and helped us, gave some advice about ways to Monaco, Cannes and the bus to the airport. It was a very cool week for 3 couples of young people. We had three separate bedrooms what was super. We will recommend you and your flat.
Robert's apartment is very nice. Exactly like the pictures and description. The building (lobby/entrance) is very old - exposed wires, broken stairs - but once you get into the apartment you'll be very happy! It's all very new - with fresh paint, brand new appliances and modern bathroom. The bedroom was very inviting and a decent size. And the bed was so comfortable - we slept wonderfully! Overall the apartment was VERY clean and in fantastic shape. It received a great breeze through the windows as well - only problem is that we got a ton of bug bites... not Robert's fault, but you might want to close the bedroom window at night so that doesn't happen.
Robert met us at the apartment when we first arrived which was very helpful especially since our train was late and we ran even later since we got lost finding the apartment. He walked us through the apartment, showing us how everything worked which was very helpful. Luckily, he happened to be staying in the apartment below us, so we were able to ask him questions throughout our stay.
The area, Old Town, is really fun - with lots of stores and restaurants. It can be confusing though to find the apartment at first but you'll love the location once you get your footing. Make sure you don't have too much luggage, as taxis cant take you to the apartment - so you have to navigate the narrow streets, loads of people and lots of stairs. Regardless, you'll be happy with the area.
