Enjoy!
Apartment was exactly as it was listed! Adorable!! Comfortable, Cozy. Interior was very eclectic, great lighting designs, this apt has a great energy. The beds were awesome, I have a bad back and I slept like a baby. The location was perfect for us as it was just a 5 minute walk to Javits Center which is where we were working for the week. The neighborhood had everything we needed as well: Duane Reed, Wine store, Coffee House etc. Apartment was clean, Plenty of Towels. Bono was very sweet as well, He even brought us Lunch and a bottle of wine to our show one day:) Would love to stay here again! we were sad to leave we loved it so much.
This is a very nice, clean and cozy little apartment. I Would recommend it to everyone. The beds are very comfortable, everything is very tidy and the location is awesome.
Very close to a pleasant walk right by the Hudson River, Times Square or even the Central Park if you feel up to it. There are stores, delis and small markets all around it. You can get supplies around the corner.
Once in the apartment, you can't hear any noise from the streets, and with the air conditioners on, the apartment reaches a nice temperature(it was summer and 90 degrees outside). Clean towels and linens are provided. There is more than enough space to store your clothes and suitcases on the closets. Bedroom is of good size, very nicely decorated. Living room/bedroom has a flatscreen with Apple tv with a comfortable sofa/bed then a mezaninne with another bed. Kitchen is nice, did'nt even use it. Bathroom is very clean.
All in all a very nice little NY apartment, with great location. I had a great stay, no complaints at all.
The location of Bono's apartment was perfect and it was clean. However, it was a little bit too tight for 4 people. Bono was timely at check in and he provided us good hints about restaurants and things to see.
Bono's apartment was everything we wished for and nothing we didn't. Superb location, just a few blocks from Herald Square in one direction and the High Line in another, which meant we were able to walk everywhere.
As a host, Bono was responsive and thoughtful, even leaving us a few items in the fridge which were welcome after a number of long haul flights. We referred to his book of 'top tips' more than once during our stay.
I'd definitely recommend this apartment if you're looking for somewhere central for two to four people (ie; up to two couples).
If (when) I return to NYC, I'd love to stay here again.
We were made quite welcome. The apt is a bit misleading from the pictures and a little dark (we had to lean out of the window in the back bedroom to see if it was cloudy or not). On the whole I would recommend his place if you were not too bothered about home comforts.
Bono welcomed us after a big clean up following some previous visitors and the place was immaculate. Bono was warm, cheerful, intelligent and clearly very experienced in hosting. He was very helpful and I can only apologise that I could not quite take in all of the great information he was imparting when we arrived. We were just a tad exhausted from our travels and I was perhaps a little light-headed. I had to trouble him later in the visit for a repeat on some of the info. which was in his comprehensive manuel if I had remembered to look. Maybe I just wanted to say goodbye directly. The apartment was a lovely cool retreat from the summer heat. One of the air conditioners was a bit noisy until we turned it down a little. The cooling effect was not lost and the apartment was very comfortable and otherwise almost completely free of noise from the outside world. Bono ended up joining us the first evening at a pretty groovy latin soul funk event put on by the Blue note Jazz festival.
My bed was great. There was plenty of space to hang your clothes in the cupboards. The kitchen is tiny but functional. Big fridge and stove but no microwave. The bathroom is ageing but fine. Taps can be a little tricky until you get use to them. The towels are fluffy and soft.
The place is close to all the transport but best of all the high line was our gateway to the lower east side. So lovely to start or end your day with a walk along it. Unfortunately there is quite a lot of development happening in the area at the moment. It is clearly on the rapid up. The noise does not affect the apartment but the jackhammers and pedestrian diversions around the building sites are plentiful when you step (email hidden).
Overall we thought the place was a lovely retreat from the city chaos and great value. We would be very happy to stay there again.
Bono is really nice & welcoming. Told us all we needed to know about the neighborhood & about getting around.
Bono is a great owner, nice person and really organized with his secret tips book of must see in NYC ;) best location ever in Manhattan close so much places to do by feet ... Don't miss the High Line that is really 2 blocks of his cozy apartment, compact with all needs for 2 to 3 persons. I will give one cool tip about taxi in NYC ... By default take in picture he card ID of the driver and this way you will get a better service cause sometime it's simply scandalous. Except this issue that is not related at all of the Loft so all was simply perfect and thank you Bono again for your welcome and that you wait us in our arrival.
We were met by Bonos friend Tim at the agreed time and place. Tim walked us to the apartment and was very friendly. Once there he quickly explained the door code and left, giving us barely any opportunity to move past the kitchen or check through things with him. We found the apartment very small and not suitable for 4 people. Unfortunately we have to say that we found it grubby. We had to give the cutlery, crockery and glasses a first wash before using them. There was alot of what appeared to be left over food in the fridge. We had to purchase our own tea towel and dishwashing liquid as there were none. We also purchased a clean kitchen sponge as the two that were there were dirty. The bathroom basin did not drain properly.
James is a great guy! He is also a very talented person, as you can see by the photos of his spacious and beautiful apartment. He personally designed and created this lovely space! I know you will have a wonderful time staying at his place, which is in a prime location in Manhattan. Enjoy your time in NYC!!!
