My kids say I'm a nice guy.
This apartment is located on a beautiful street, in the great Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn. Everything is easy walking distance: restaurants, bars, groceries, wine stores, pharmacies, the river with a view of Manhattan, and the subway station. Alex and Karyn were very easy to communicate with leading up to our stay at their comfortable home. It was a little confusing where to enter the building when we arrived, but once we got the hang of it, we were greeted by a wonderful, spacious, historic late 19th century home that had been recently updated. The living/dining/kitchen is pleasantly appointed, and the kitchen had all the amenities. The bath and bedroom are nice, with extra pillows and blankets. This is a great apartment in a perfect location if you are looking in the Greenpoint neighborhood, and the hosts were wonderful to work with. When we go back, we will definitely request this apartment again.
This was my second time staying at the Greenpoint apartment. Alex and Karyn are always quick to respond to questions or needs. Perfect location with great restaurants, shops and access to subway nearby. Feels safe, apartment clean and comfortable. SO much better than staying at a hotel. Has become my first choice when visiting my son who lives nearby. Thanks again!
Spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Fabulous location with great shops, restaurants, cafes and bars within walking distance. Very considerate hosts, generous and quick to respond. We will be returning next May!
Karyn and Alex were wonderful hosts. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and convenient. We loved getting to know Greenpoint -- a delightfully quiet and walkable neighborhood with lots to see and do.
134 Kent Street was the best! My teenage daughter and I stayed there three nights and wished we had many more. Karyn was extremely responsive, pleasant & patient with all my inquiries prior to our arrival by email, text or phone. She welcomed us personally, made sure we were comfortably settled in and always was accessible if needed. The place was darling and very clean and the bed very comfortable with lots of pillows provided! Charming decorating, we felt it our hip home away from home right away! My daughter never made it to the pull out bed because the couch itself was so cozy. The owners live above the apartment which is garden level and gated, but we never were disturbed by any noise from above or outside even with windows open. We felt very safe in the neighborhood-day and night, even enjoyed two restaurants and the deli and grocery store, all conveniently within a few blocks. As most of our time was spent in Manhattan, it was very easy to walk two blocks to the Ferry or the Subway or use Ubers which never had difficulty located the property. The show, Blue Bloods, was filming literally across the street our first afternoon! We would love to go back again as soon as we can! Thanks for a wonderful first Airbnb experience!
Karyn and Alex are wonderful hosts. Upon arriving into NYC, both Karyn and Alex responded to my texts promptly and Karyn met me as arranged to pass along the keys as well as helpful advice with respect to transportation and grocers, etc. The apartment is exceptionally comfortable, and well located - close to the Subway, and to the East River Ferry, so it is easy to get to other areas in Brooklyn and into Manhattan. Highly recommend!
Nice roomy place with great location
Would certainly stay there again
Thank you so much to Alex an Karyn for making our first Airbnb experience not to an experiment but to a very great experience from start to finish.
The apartment was really clean and beautiful decorated. So the pictures on Airbnb are accurate and showing the details you will like to see in reality. Moreover no disturbing noise from the street came into the rooms as this house is located in a very quiet and charming old world. So my wife never felt insecure as we have noticed a very safe-feeling neighborhood that offered everything we had been looking for.
Right from the start we felt at home and had found very quickly our special places in this neighborhood. You must try the recommendations of Karyn and Alex. Especially the Mogador Cafe had caught our hearts right from the beginng and had seen us for several times ;) Five leaves had been a great recommondation too.
NYC? Well, we never had expected that Greenpoint and Williamsburg are offering so much hot and interesting spots that we nearly had forgotten that we had originally foccussed on Manhattan and not on Brooklyn ;) Try the ferry to 34St and moreover follow Alex advise to enjoy from the ferry terminal the spectacular view on Manhattans Skyline. If you don't like to take the ferry take the G Line into direction of Court Square and switch into direction of Manhattan.
In our minds and experiences Karyn and Alex had been the perfect hosts which were always available by phone or SMS when not meeting in person as they are living one floor above. So thank you very much to the Rockwell familiy which had done a great job in preparing our rooms as comfortable as we had found them. 134 Kent St will stay in our hearts and minds as a place which asks for a return :))
Alex's family is very welcoming and the bedroom is clean and nicely decorated. My wife and I enjoyed the stay very much.
Accommodating and responsive. Alex and Karyn made everything so easy.
Alex was a great guest who will be welcome back any time.
David was a great guest to have around: easy communication, reliable, very considerate, and really appreciative of our space.
no worries about the blender it's a gift.
Not sure why you think I'm David but my name is Alex....
Alex was fantastic to host. Loved meeting him and having him stay with us. A real gentleman, easygoing, he left the place spotless and was a delight in every way. Don't hesitate to make him your guest!
Alex, Karyn and their children were excellent guests. I would like to welcome them again.
Great location, atmosphere and energy at this really cool Brooklyn spot! You'll love the neighborhood and the hosts are super friendly, accommodating and helpful. Best bang for your buck!
