I stayed at Chris's for 5 nights. I never met Chris but talked with him on the phone once upon arriving. I lived with his roommate, who is a friendly, well-traveled, interesting guy. The apartment is spacious, clean, smartly furnished, overall aesthetically pleasing. The building and apartment are quite new.
Chris should upload more pictures to attract guests. In any case, everything was as described.
The bedroom (where you will stay alone) has a hammock on the lower level and spacious loft/upper level which you access by a ladder. This is where the bed is. The bed is queen-sized and indeed comfortable. The room plus loft has a high ceiling, so the bedroom as a whole is not cramped as one might wonder from the plain description. The bedroom opens out to a covered porch area - the porch extends just about 3 feet from the room.
The guys asked me what could be improved. I forgot to say that curtains for the bedroom lower level would be nice, for dressing. (There are bamboo blinds upstairs.)
Lastly, the apartment is a healthy 10 minute walk from the subway. It is a safe walk. I recommend cutting through the Pratt Institute premises - there is a nice sculpture garden. With the walk, it takes some time and patience to get to and from midtown Manhattan, especially late at night when the trains run more infrequently. Keep this in mind if that's where you're used to staying.
It was great to have Chris home. He is a nice person, kind and always smiling. He was very respectful with the house rules.
We 100% recommend to receive him as a guest.
Hope to see you again Chris!!!
