Place clean & well stocked. Betty has a heart of gold & will do her best to make your stay enjoyable. If she offers to put something in her "Pitt" be sure to take her up on it- yummmm. Nice for people with pets because the cottage has a small fenced in area and some wide trails on the adjoining couple of acres. The bed is a double & is comfortable. The other bed is just below the hip in height & may fit a single adult but more child size. No couch only a wood rocker & one short upholstered chair - 2 kitchen table chairs & 3 stools.
While Betty's place is clean & neat with a rural view on one side; the other side, not her property, is a different matter entirely. She is at the edge of a very delapitated trailer home park - many look like they should be condemned and are littered. We had no problems, Betty assured us it was safe but I did not feel secure enough to walk around alone.
We enjoyed a week away from the city at Betty's Comfy Cottage after Christmas. The cottage was very clean and simple, and well stocked with kitchen utensils, clean towels, and everything we needed for the week. The TV and wifi internet access were great, as we spent a few days inside due to bad weather.
Betty was out of town for much of the week, so we didn't have much time to chat, but she was only a phone call away if we needed anything. She dropped by to make sure everything was going well, and connected us with a friendly neighbour next door, which made for a good evening of conversation.
The description in the listing was accurate, and we had no surprises. This was a great place to get a break from city life and spend some time with nature and the local friendly animals.
Très charmant cottage!! Très propre et très accueillant! Merci beaucoup Betty!
This place exceeded all of our expectations. We arrived late at night and Betty was very accommodating. We also brought our 2 dogs who enjoyed the secure dog run and the treats left in the house for them! The house was spotless & peaceful. Wifi worked great. I would love to go back sometime for another quiet weekend.
Betty the host was such a sweetheart! The place was beautiful and it was so nice to be able to play with her horses. I swear Betty brought me some type of treat all seven days I was there. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin. it's very comfy and lovely. Betty is a so friendly host! We absolutely recommend this place to everybody! :)))
Nice place, It was just as it was described. My girlfriend rides horses so she had a great time petting the horses. Would book again.
Wonderfully quaint and clean cottage in a very calm and beautiful surroundings. Betty is a very kind and considerate person, and she makes sure to help with anything one might need. I recommend this cottage without any reservation.
The cabin was fine and Betty the host was wonderful. The area the cabin is in is sketchy. Due to our circumstances we were there for an extended period of time which I regret.
I'm sorry that Liese felt the need to post this, she and her family seemed so happy while staying with us. A misunderstanding about early departure seems to have prompted the last part of the review which is unfortunate.
Great getaway for animal lovers.
We brought our dog for a two day escape from the city and had a very nice time. Over the course of our stay we were visited by four dogs, two cats, and a couple of horses. Our dog loved running around with her new friends, and we enjoyed the furry company.
The cottage is surprisingly large considering how small it looks from the outside. Perfect for two people, but would have been fine for more.
The property provides for several acres of exploring, but if you really want to get out into nature, head north to Davy Crockett National Forest. It is a 45 minute drive, but well worth it. We hiked for hours and didn't see anyone.
The cottage has anything you'd need for cooking ( stove, coffee pot, microwave, grill, etc. ) but be sure to stop by Brookshire Brothers for your groceries. It is less than five minutes from the cottage.
