i am from mumbai
The apartment is very competitively priced and it IS a really good deal - no questions on that. With the amount of space you are getting, (basically a decent size one bedroom apartment with a nice bathroom), Rs 4000 is a steal. (or at least a pretty good deal in Mumbai). To add to it, the apartment is housed in a nice and peaceful (tree lined) colony which is far removed from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai - in spite of being on the main road. There is a "caretaker" who (as he describes it) is an all rounder - he cleans the apartment and changes sheets (not everyday) and can also cook your breakfast/other meals. He is a very friendly and nice guy apart from being a great cook - you can have real home cooked Indian food with him. All in all, we found it to be a very good choice and even people who came to visit us thought it was a good deal. I was initially hesitant because there weren't many nice reviews for this listing, but we had a great experience and wanted to share it. (though maybe I should have kept it a secret, but I am speaking out in the greater public good!).
The place has its problems however. The first problem is mosquitoes. The second problem is mosquitoes. The third problem is....you get the picture. So bring your own supplies to fight mosquitoes when you are here - not the fault of the owners of this place, the entire colony seems to be like that - don't know why. (not because it is dirty, the place was squeaky clean by Mumbai standards). In the day time it is still OK - but in the night the mosquitose can destroy your sleep. So bring your own mosquito fighting supplies - and please take this problem seriously, otherwise it will spoil your stay! There is a place in the apartment which has a crack in the wall - it would be easy to repair it. Also, there are two apartments on the ground floor, one has a wireless and the other has cable internet, so good to know this when you choose. (there are three apartments on a floor above). All in all, this place is strongly recommended. In Mumbai, even a 3 star hotel will charge you higher than this and provide an inferior quality of accommodation/service.
I stayed in the one bedroom apartment in Model Town, Andheri E. Aparna responded to my complaints and concerns immediately and tried her best to help.
I didn't stay in this room because she moved me the day before I was to come. However I did see it once and the room shown is very nice inside, but the neighborhood wasn't very good and you have to pay a fee everytime you drive into the area. The place I stayed is model town in andheri east. It was 1bhk and the neighborhood was good, but you have to enter through a public door to get to the room. The public door is always locked though, day and night, so you have to knock or ring the bell. The guy is there 24 hours a day and he's really nice, but I felt bad making him get up so much even if I was just going to grab lunch for five minutes he had to lock and unlock the door. The room was clean and the neighborhood was good, but id book with someone else next time. This is run as a company called cspl, they should run it as a business and not under the guise of sharing their home. I would suggest taking a room with someone else. Literally the night before coming, she emailed me to use the other house. It wasn't at all professional.
It was a decent apartment conveniently located. The caretaker is a wonderful guy and very helpful.
This is a nice apartment, the owner does not stay here, it is managed by a caretaker and seems more like a guesthouse.
It was a last minute booking and it went so smooth. Very well connected, well deserved pricing, neat and clean apartment and care taker is very helpful (should not miss the breakfast, he cooks.. really indian ;) )
I wished to stay longer but unfortunately couldn't but nect time for you.
all the best Aparna
