I am Sarahgabrielle, though I go by Sarah.

I am a rising first-year student at Mount Holyoke College who originates from Miami Beach, FL but was raised in Caracas, Venezuela. I am fluent in English and Spanish, and can fend pretty well in French. I joined the site because I look forward to traveling over the next few years, and getting to know people and the world better - what better way, then, than to avoid hotels and do things the local way?

I'll answer some of the basic questions that airbnb suggests I answer:

Five things I could not live without (aside from the basic food, water, etc): Pens, notebooks, comfortable shoes, my leather purse (I swear that thing can hold everything I need ever), and a way to contact my loved ones.

Favorite travel destinations: This would be a paragraph on it's own, but I haven't traveled as much as I would have liked to actually base this on experience.

Favorite authors: Coelho, Rowling, Rand, Huxley, Dario, Maguire, Nazoa, Aguirre, O'Brien, Becquer, Emerson, Plath, Douglas Adams, Cory Doctorow, Wells, Wilde, and onward!

Movies: If I've read the book, I've probably seen the movie. I dig Spanish and French films (though I've seen very few of the latter), some comedies, very few rom-coms, and some action films. I am not that well-versed in film noir or film classics, but I look forward to being so.

Shows: My two favorite shows at the moment are Mad Men and How I Met Your Mother, and I grew up with Boy Meets World and Seinfeld. I can't explain this one too well.

Music: Everything. From Stravinsky to the Shotgun Wedding Quintet, from Childish Gambino to the Diablo Swing Orchestra, and from Keane to Merle Haggard. I repeat, everything.

Food: I like to try new things. The least-common thing I've tried to date was jellyfish, and it was delicious.

Me, as a guest: I like to think I travel light, and I enjoy getting lost in new places - of course, while being able to find my way back. I am neat and pay attention to details, and will always make sure that everything I am near is in a same or better condition than it was found. I'm very careful about following instructions for safety and comfort, as well as making sure not to overstep boundaries.
