Leigh met us at a time that was convenient for us even though we were late getting to the house. She was accommodating and provided us with coffee, tea, and milk. The studio is a little more spacious than it looks online, and it was an interesting and comfortable place to stay, even though we were only there for one night. Tons of cool oddities to check out in the apartment, and the wifi was fast.
Leigh made us feel very welcome, running outside to flag us down as we were about to take (another) wrong turn, giving us wonderful suggestions for places to eat, places to visit.
The actual room was like a magical space with artwork from around the world and enough thought-provoking books and journals - on archeology, Southwest art, novels, nonfiction - to keep us busy for the next year! There was a small useful kitchen and we slept very well.
From the attached picture of the home one can tell that they won't be staying in the usual condo or housing tract. True! The neighborhood is fairly junky, but do not be deterred - the room itself is spacious and cpomfortable.
Leigh and James were both very welcoming and created such a comfortable, home-like studio for me to stay in (along with my dog). They provided a lot of information about the area as well as everything I might need during my stay. Thank you so much for being wonderful hosts!
Host was very accommodating and the home was great. We were a little late on our roadtrip to Espanola but Leigh nevertheless stayed up and waited for us to make sure that we found the place, which was extremely appreciated. The studio is filled with many awesome artifacts from around the world, so the place was very fun to stay at. Would recommend to anyone traveling to Santa Fe or the surrounding area!
Leigh's place is a wonderful whimsical space! My boyfriend and I weren't on a tight schedule and Leigh was very accommodating to us. I do recommend arriving during daylight hours so as not to be confused by the area, but we were provided with very clear instructions and everything worked out! I highly recommend staying here! Lovely out of the way place, nice and quiet.
Leigh and James were great, hospitable and helpful. Leigh showed us her weaving workroom and some of her work - amazing. They were very helpful with anything we needed.
The neighborhood feels small-town rural, just on the edge of paths along the river and into the hills. (The only downside for walking was the many unleashed dogs around so it was a bit traumatic for my laid-back old dog.)
I found the house to be cozy and quiet - a lovely place to hang out, work, drink tea. Easy drive to Santa Fe and several pueblos a bit further to Taos and Albuquerque, but we visited all of those places, which are full of amazing art and rich culture.
Leigh was an excellent host, made me feel really welcome and at home, and made sure I could find the place OK despite my late night arrival. The place was as advertised and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay in the area.
Very cute, cozy, nice spot. Hospitable hosts, though we barely saw them. If youre a light sleeper you'll need the provided earplugs. Dogs a howlin...
Leah greeted us warmly and gave us a tour upon our arrival. She provided lots of bedding options, and answered all of our questions. We enjoyed her large space and our walks throughout the local area. She also was helpful, patient, and accommodating as we realized that the internet was too slow for our purposes, and that we needed to move elsewhere for our last night.
Very good experience. The place is cozy. I forgot my glasses after stay. Leigh is so kind that remind me early that day and mailed back to me immediately. I would highly recommend Leigh's place.
Leigh and James were ideal guests, clearly communicating and being available. They left the space clean and are welcome back any time!
