I'm based in New York City, and have been living here for about 8 years working in Marketing for national media companies with a focus on music, entertainment, and youth culture. I've amassed a great group of friends across the country and travel to see them whenever I can at various events or festivals. I'm a big fan of weekend trips, but that often means cramming a lot of people into a little bit of time. I often stay with friends (which is great for about the first 6 hours), but since my trips are usually so busy and so short, I always end up feeling burdensome (coming home late night, having to share keys, etc) or like I've neglected my host.
Hotels are my go-to if I'm on business, traveling with friends to split costs, feeling rich, or going on a real vacation. Real vacation = somewhere with a beach and a spa.
I'm happy as long as I have somewhere clean to sleep-in comfortably, shower, and park my rental car.
Favorite weekend travel destinations: L.A. or the U.S. Virgin Islands
