We had the best stay! The house and property are both GORGEOUS. I'd easily say the house is even more beautiful and spacious than the photos show.
Keith was a gracious host and answered my questions leading up to our stay, and was available for a phone call during our stay. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed (minus food and drinks, of course!) like linens, propane for the grill, etc.
We had so much fun stargazing from the 360 degree balcony on the dome at night and sipping coffee while watching the sunrise in the morning. The house is so close to the park that is feels like it's in the park. Beautiful cacti and desert plants are everywhere and the views are fantastic.
It's a beautiful space and the owner is great - we highly recommend a stay here.
Keith was helpful and quick to respond, and the house was fantastic. The property had a lot of interesting things to explore, including a stone maze, access to a trail, a tortoise, and other wildlife. Although the pool was pretty chilly despite the warm weather, I couldn't have asked for a better place to spend the weekend.
Keith was very accommodating and the house was amazing. Lots of space and very interesting to explore.Truly made the weekend. The pool was a bit cold in the wee hours and never quite reached "heated level" but I'm sure it would be great during the day.
My travelling companions arrived before I did so I never got to meet Keith but I know their interaction was fantastic.
Also - the place is incredible. We stayed here during Coachella Festival (which is about a 1 hour drive from Joshua Tree) and the house was the highlight! More so than any of the music we saw. Absolutely beautiful and it even comes with a pet turtle!
I stayed at the Wonderland Dome for my 30th birthday. The place is absolutely fantastic! It's right up against the hills of Joshua Tree National Park on the outskirts of the town of Joshua Tree. The home was built on a large property with lots of privacy. The scenery, view and vegetation are stunning. Very pretty, quiet and peaceful.
The home itself is fantastic. They have an indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, an outdoor spa, lovely kitchen, dinning room, breakfast nook, huge master bedroom.
This place is ideal for a weekend get together of 6-12 people. Keith is a great guy as well. Overall a fantastic experience... and I just might come back again soon!
The dome home is beautiful and we had a wonderful stay.
We enjoyed our trip to Joshua Tree and found the owner to be always pleasant and very helpful but given the price of the rental our overall assessment was that the house didn't meet expectations. Here is why:
Our main concern was that despite several attempts we were unable to lock one of the exterior doors and though I am sure the town itself is generally a safe place we found it unsettling to sleep in an unlocked house in an unfamiliar place.
Despite repeated attempts (and two calls to the owner who I will say was always available by phone and very happy to try and help us) we were unable to heat the jacuzzi (which I later found out was also not very clean). We could activate the water jets but activating the heat was something we couldn't figure out (each attempt involved crawling under the deck which seemed a bit of a nuisance). The owner did offer to drive from his home some distance away to try and help us heat the water but in the end we felt scheduling a time to meet with him and continuing to deal with it would distract us from enjoying our short vacation.
One of the beds was "broken" – I don't know how else to describe it. Basically the slats supporting the mattress don't fit the frame, they overlap and could be felt through the mattress. The person staying in that room moved the mattress to the floor and slept there.
The upside is that the house was clean and sits on a large lot with wildlife, a good view and the neighborhood is very peaceful.
Joshua Tree is amazing and this house is the perfect spot for a crew who wants to spend some time and take it all in. Keith is cool and helpful.
