My name is Keith and we have been hosting people in our domes for the last 8 years.
During our one month stay at La Colina Playa Ocotal we enjoyed a
memorable stay in a very comfortable and well equipped home located within easy walking distance to beautiful Ocotal beach and shopping and restaurants in Coco. The La Colina neighbourhood was very welcoming to us, inviting us to Christmas activities and sharing beach and pool accessories with us. As well, La Colina also offers a number of fantastic pools - including a beautiful hilltop infinity pool.
Keith, our host was very friendly and responsive in helping us with
questions and advice on the nearby area.
I would highly recommend La Colina Playa Ocotal.
Keith was a great host, made it really easy to arrive and have a great time. He responded within a few hours of every email. Really appreciated how on the ball and easy he was to work it.
The host canceled this reservation 91 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The house was beautiful and great for our group of 9 people. There is a master bedroom upstairs, 2 bedrooms in the main part of the house, another bedroom off the pool, and a day bed area above the pool. There are two kitchens which was key for our group that loves to cook.
The pool was the perfect temperature for our stay in July (105 degrees outside) though the pool bedroom does get quite warm. The AC wasn't great at keeping the house cool in July.
Keith was very communicative. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication about what day we would be arriving. Nonetheless, Keith was helpful and sorted it out. We needed a few supplies and they showed up on our doorstep the next day.
We watched the sunset from the deck off the master suite and it was gorgeous. The house is in a small neighborhood away from the main road though there are neighbors not far away.
Keith was a great host. Communication with him was very easy and he was always quick to respond to inquiries. The house was well-stocked with everything we needed for a fun weekend. The house and decor are very fun and do truly make you feel like you are on a desert (email hidden)e neighborhood is quiet, so it's good for seeing wildlife.
We only had 2 problems with the house and one was very minor. The minor problem was that the master bedroom toilet would run if you didn't jiggle the handle after you flushed. Not a huge deal, but since the house is in the desert and all of California is in a drought, this should get fixed ASAP. The other problem was that the air conditioning was not really strong enough. The master bedroom and bathroom were very cool and comfortable, but the main area (kitchen and living/dining room) was always a little warm for comfort and the upstairs bedrooms were definitely hot. Our friends that stayed in the upstairs bedrooms would have definitely liked to have more AC.
Overall, great house for the price. I would rent from Keith again.
Loved it here!!! Also, Keith was awesome host!! Stay here it's so worth it!!
Nice space in Joshua Tree. Spacious with vast open space that is perfect for walks and animal watching; saw a few rabbits, quails, and road runners.. The host can definitely take a bit to get back to you with questions, and what not, but was generally helpful. Also, the outdoor jacuzzi did not turn on and was sullied and filled with sand so it was not useable. There was also a minor toilet issue as well (water wouldn't stop pumping after a flush). Otherwise a good recommend for bigger parties.
Had an amazing Bday weekend in Joshua tree. The Dome House was real nice, clean, spacious. The house had everything we needed. Located few miles away form shops and restaurants yet you feel like you are in the middle of the nowhere in the dessert. I will for sure rent form Keith again. very good host.
We had the best stay! The house and property are both GORGEOUS. I'd easily say the house is even more beautiful and spacious than the photos show.
Keith was a gracious host and answered my questions leading up to our stay, and was available for a phone call during our stay. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed (minus food and drinks, of course!) like linens, propane for the grill, etc.
We had so much fun stargazing from the 360 degree balcony on the dome at night and sipping coffee while watching the sunrise in the morning. The house is so close to the park that is feels like it's in the park. Beautiful cacti and desert plants are everywhere and the views are fantastic.
It's a beautiful space and the owner is great - we highly recommend a stay here.
Keith was helpful and quick to respond, and the house was fantastic. The property had a lot of interesting things to explore, including a stone maze, access to a trail, a tortoise, and other wildlife. Although the pool was pretty chilly despite the warm weather, I couldn't have asked for a better place to spend the weekend.
