Great location for folks needing a centrally located place. The apartment is 10 minutes (around the corner) from the big mall and grocery store, and close to the metro station. Since the unit is in a centrally located place, there is some street noise/traffic, and some late night noise from folks coming home from the bars. Christina responded quickly when i emailed her to let her know my friends and I will coming in after midnight. Christina left clear directions to pick up the key from the door man and basic information about the unit (which does have wifi). It was hassle free experience.
Apartment was fine: how it was described in the listing. Location was good, walking distance to the city/subways. We had an issue with the hot water; was fixed the following day. Cristina was a good host: information about access was clear and easy etc. Apartment was a little dusty; windows were open when we arrived but it was hot so we left them open for the duration of our stayed. Otherwise, place was comfortable.
The place was just like in the pictures. Lovely building, even though you are right in the middle of the city you feel like you are somewhere out in some holiday rustic bungalow. Check in and check out was very practical. People in the building is nice and there is a nice Coffee Shop on the first floor.
I booked to stay in the apartment called "R" for over a month. I feel that the host accepted my booking without consideration of the needs of a long-term tenant. My first disappointment came when I asked the host to provide me with an iron. The response I received was 'The owner is not interested to provide you with an iron'. As a consequence, I purchased my own iron. I recommended to the host that they reimburse me for the iron, which they did not do. Forgive me if you rent this apartment and find no iron - I reluctantly gave it to a friend when I vacated the apartment.
Although the apartment block is very funky, as is the apartment, funky does not equal functional. I found that the window design did not let enough air into the apartment when it was hot, and let too much air in when it was cold. The hot water issues are not resolved. There is no oven and very little kitchen equipment (2 plates, 2 cups, 2 glasses only etc). The fridge, although large, is broken inside with no containers or capacity to place product in the side doors of the fridge. I would have preferred by own broom instead of sharing with the other apartments. On the upside, the lady who is always onsite and cares for the general apartment area is very friendly and tried her best to help where possible. And the wifi is strong. If you are staying for longer than one week, I recommend that you ask for what you might need before you confirm your booking in this apartment, so that the host has the opportunity to meet your requirements.
Nice place to stay - cool building concept called a "cite" which is a mix of rental apartments , office units, and cafe... the building has lots of character and nice architectural finishes - unique and different than your run of the mill apartment.
The unit itsself is sufficient for short term stay - wifi, kitchen, and living space is nice. Bedroom and closet space is good enough. Bathroom is very small. Also know that this unit is on the third floor, no elevator, but who doesn't need the extra few steps after all those empanadas and sopapillas ;) You are about 10 mins from the metro/subway, or 1 min from a bus that can take you to the subway (free transfers with a BIP card!). There is a shared laundry and dryer which works great. I never actually met the host, but she did a good job of responding to my messages within a day. There are multiple units in this building for residential purposes. This one in particular has nice lighting, and a nice desk for your computer/laptop. Do note that this building uses gas for heating - and while the owner does a good job of making sure the tanks are full. you may run into a shock in the shower if the gas runs out, after which you need to contact the owner to get the refill (which could take 1 day) .. you also need a gas tank for the portable space heater. I had to buy the refill my self and get reimbursed by the owner which kind of sucks..
Overall, nice place, different, and cozy. The unit it self could use some small touch up and fixes (small tasks a handy man could do within an hour). If you are staying short term, you wont even notice. We stayed a month, and wish those small items were taken care of.
Real interesting-artsy place! A bit cold though
Nice, clean apartment. Exactly as advertised. I would stay here again.
The apartment was very nice and clean, great location! Had everything you need, highly recommended
The apartment is very rustic with a large living room kitchen area and nice bedroom. Access is through a gate with access code. Very nice place however it was a little cold and I could not get the heater to work. After a day or two Cristina sent someone to connect the gas heater and the place was comfortable.
