We stayed with Laura for four nights and had a great time. She gave us loads of advice on how to get to her place and when we got there we weren't disappointed. The house is a beautiful old building with great facilities, situated in what feels like a real Philly neighbourhood, very close to a bus stop that takes you right into town. Laura is really accomodating but also happy to let you get on with your own thing, plus her housemates are lovely too. We couldn't have asked for a better roof to have over our heads for our time Philly, or a better host!
Me and my wife had a wonderful stay in Philly, Laura was great host, lovely house, we were there over Christmas and we invited to have Christmas breakfast and dinner with friends and family, thank u so much again, ur a top star
It was great to stay at Laura´s home! She provided me a very warm and convenient arrival by describing exactly how I can arrive. Arrival was very flexible and well organized by her.
The house is very nice and the room as well with a huge American-style bed.
The house was a little bit outside the city center but easy and fast (10 min) to reach by bus.
And there was a great breakfast place 20 seconds away from her house. I would always came back!
There were a TON of pros for staying with Laura:
-Laura is SUPER nice and welcoming!
-There was a ton of parking on the street
-the house was easy to locate
-getting and giving back the key was easy
-Laura even offered to make us breakfast in the morning!
-bed was comfortable and clean
-wifi was fast
-there was a bus that was super close; didn't use it but I saw it and I'm sure it would have been very useful
-I accidentally locked Laura out and she was super nice about it
the only con I would say about my whole experience is that the walls of the house are a little thin. It wasn't bad at all--in fact, it's probably worse in most apartments--but it's just something I didn't expect and if outside/next door noise is a problem that's something to consider. It was totally fine for me.
Would definitely return/recommend Laura's place.
It was a nice stay. It was a large house and I liked my room. Laura gave me detailed transportation instructions and guided me to the house and my room using texts and notes while she was busy. The bus takes about 30 min to city center, so it might be a perfect choice for people who do not like city noises, but might not be perfectly convenient for people who would like to frequently explore the downtown. One night there was a fuse blow which shutdown the wifi and the power in my room. Laura fixed it the second morning and have me a refund of one night stay.
Laura is super friendly, easy going, welcoming and my wife and I loved our stay at her house. We will definitely stay with her whenever we get back to Philly =)
I needed a place to stay while attending a show in Philadelphia.Laura was the perfect host and I really enjoyed my stay.I will definitely stay again if her home is available.
Inexpensive, very convenient, very clean room and bathroom. Thanks for the stay! :)
First time Airbnb user, and Laura made me want to use it whenever I travel. She is incredible sweet, made my stay in Philly comfortable and enjoyable.
I had a great stay in Philadelphia and was very comfortable in this homely and spacious house. The house is located around 10 minutes walk from the heart of Fairmount, where you will find trendy cafes, restaurants and Eastern State Penitentiary. There's also a bus outside which will take you straight into downtown Philly.
Laura and her housemates are very polite and accommodating. Laura even drove me to the airport when I overslept my alarm one morning. Good luck with your degree :)
We enjoyed having Laura here most of this past week, providing a base of operation while she finished up a work project in Hbg. Her schedule (early out every morning!) meant we didn't have much time to interact. But in all respects, she was a perfect guest. Good advance communication. Clean and quiet... Really! Come back any time!
Laura and Amanda made for really pleasant guests. They were quite independent and self sufficient but very friendly and social too. They were neat, very respectful and very helpful. Great and interesting guests! It was a pleasure to chat with people so excited by travel and seeing new cultures.
