I was there with my family for the 2nd. time and we certainly enjoyed the stay once again. We also had some friends visiting for a part of our stay and it worked well.
The internet is now working very well, so this is great for rainy days during this season.
All in all a great stay - just like last time. I can only reccommend this place for anyone wishing to experience the Seychelles.
The Seychelles and this property comes with our highest recommendation. (And we have been pretty much everywhere there is to go) Best family holiday in years, we wish we had found this place 10 years ago! For us (My pregnant wife, 2 year old and I) Eden Island was perfect for us. (And Ittai was very helpful from start to finish on all counts)
The Seychelles beats the Maldives on just about everything, especially if you have a family. Its also considerably better value for money.
On the 3 Bed Property: Very new, Beautiful inside, comfy beds, big showers and baths with excellent AC. Note that this property also has Wireless internet..which is rare for Eden Island properties so very handy indeed. Having the use of the electric buggy on the island made our holiday so easy, so much so that our 7 days felt like 10. We could relax instantly.. We used the golf buggy to get to any one of the 4 beaches or 2 pools or the 4 restaurants. All of which were of a good standard (We live in Dubai where standards are high) Location of Eden Island is literally 4 min drive from the airport, ideal for people with kids who dont want to jump on yet another plane with kids in tow. The beaches, pools and restaurants were pretty empty which suited us down to the ground. Swings for kids next to infinity pool.
Some useful tips:
- Getting around: You will pay 30 USD to go pretty much anywhere via taxi, there seems to be an "Aggreement" amongst taxi drivers there not to use meters. Annoying but hey, not the end of the world. If you want to go around the island then rent a car for a day and plan. Its about 40 Euros a day for a small car.
- Shopping: Shopping here is rediculously expensive . The local shop on the island sells day to day items. If you want to be prepared take some tinned food with you, (Many also freeze and wrap meats to cook while there which is permitted) Best thing to do is fly in on a Friday and go to the market on a Saturday to buy all your food, fruit, vege etc. about 1/10th of the price of the supermarkets. In the end we just ate out every lunch and evening.
- Restaurants: We only ate out on the island. The french restaurant is pricey but nice food. The best value was the Italian, which served all types of food of decent quality, excellent chicken, pizzas, and the usual fayre. Also quick service with a smile and food comes out quick. Ideal for kids. If you want seafood the restaurant over the bridge on the right is a must. Its the best restaurant for family and couples. Amazing local fish dishes. Dont eat in boardwalk, strickly for drinking. The food was terrible there.
We are booking now for Dec. Enough said!
Our family had a wonderful stay at Ittais Maison 5 at Eden Island. Generaly high standard interior and decoration. Very spacious and lots of room for a big family. Price/value is quite good. We had a golfcar and housekeeping every day and it worked perfectly.
Only complaint is that we did not get the promised WIFI. After some days we did however get one USB dongle. Despite high hopes and efforts WIFI never came.
The WIFI-issue set aside, we can only recommend this wounderful maison situated on Eden Island - a paradise for boaters and botanical beachlovers alike! On this budget for a family of 4-8 it cannot be made better at this location - guarranteed - so go ahead and book!
