The reservation was canceled 4 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We stayed for a week with 4 very tall adult children in the middle of the snow.
A great location and very comfortable - spacious and full of everything you need.
Great location near to good food, interesting area and very easy for travel/sightseeing
Would highly recommend it
We stayed at this apt over New Year and were delighted with the interior and space made available to us. It truly is a unique apt and as all three of us are interior designers we love to stay in unusual homes and this really hit the mark.
The location was great making it easy to access New York and all it has to offer.
Many of the reviews mention the stairs and they are quite demanding, I wouldn't recommend for anyone with pushchairs etc but they wouldn't put me off staying again.
All in all we had a wonderful time and staying at the apt rather than a hotel made it even more enjoyable.
We stayed at Alis Loft for 20 days in December with 3 kids and can recommend it. The loft is very very well equipped. We enjoyed the unique design and lighting. Beds very comfortable, clean and soft linen, enough towels, good heating, lots of storage space, sound surround system, apple tv with lots of movies, computer and printer to use, wifi, shelves full of nice books, new and clean bathroom providing shower gels...
Ali left a folder with all important information about the loft and area including food delivery menus...she was very fast anwering all our questions. We felt taken care of - great host!!
B and D subways are just around the corner, J and Z a few walking minutes away. Within no time you can reach all the "hotspots". Very good seafood at reasonable prices just around the corner at chinese markets.
The stairs were only a problem at the beginning and the end of our stay as we had many heavy suitcases. All the rest of the time we found it absolutely fine to walk up and train our butts (even with three little kids)
Unfortunately there was a lot of noise at night due to construction work in front of the house and next to the house - not on weekends.
Spent 4 days in Ali's loft as a family trip ( 6 adults). We were all delighted with the loft !
Great location , a stone's throw from Chinatown, SoHo - great bars & restaurants, closest subway (Grand St) a 2 minute walk. Whole Foods ( yum! ) a short walk away.
The loft was well equipped, with clear instructions on wifi, tv etc. There was plenty of space for us all to hang out, the bedrooms were roomy with fresh, clean bedding & towels.
Access to the loft & leaving was very straightforward with Julia the housekeeper meeting us at the loft.
Only two notes; a long flight of stairs to get to the loft.....ok for 6 adults, but might be a problem for buggies etc. Secondly, the front bedroom was quite noisy ( traffic, roadworks at the moment) for 2 people who usually live in a quiet area in the UK) However, the rest of my family had no issues with the noise and with earplugs it was no problem. I think it's a reflection of how central the apartment is and probably to be expected in NYC.
Overall, a big thumbs up and we would happily stay here again if we visit NY again. Thanks !
The loft at 131 Bowery is a true New York expreience. It is spacious, has all the equipment you need and the bathroom is fresh and inviting. Everything was clean and functioning. The location is perfect if you want to explore Manhattan.
The one thing that might be a concern is the sound of the traffic and now in November the sound of the construction work during the night time. On the other hand; where can you stay on Manhattan where there is no traffic?
All contacts with Ali have been swift and she has been very service oriented. Everything worked out really well and I can strongly recomend Ali as host.
This is a safe choice and a nice experience.
Very nice loft conveniently situated. Ali was very helpful concerning our delayed luggage ... We really appreciated the space and the furniture . Well equiped. It was great being so close to Soho and chinatown, but quite difficult to climb the stairs after hours of walking in NYC at night. We would recommend it, but be aware of the noisy environment at nights.
We spent a weekend in New York as a group of 6 friends and really loved this loft apartment. The location was perfect for the area's we wanted to spend time in and really close to Broadway for shopping! The apartment itself was so unique with really beautiful style. Ali allowed us to drop our bags off early and to check out a little later making our visit completely hassle free. As others have mentioned the 4 flights of stairs can be a challenge but personally it made me feel less guilty about all of the great food I was eating in NY! Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.
This is a great place to stay with a group of people for the space. I came with my adult children and we really enjoyed the space, the privacy for each bedroom, and the opportunity to sit around the lounge and chat and enjoy our own company. The house is fairly well equipped- missing a kettle and a place to hang your clothes to dry but we managed with a pot and hanging our clothes under the fans on the back of chairs. The dryer doesn't work and we had to put new batteries in the computer keypad but happy to have the use of wifi. The instructions for the stereo are a bit challenging and we couldn't get that to work either.
The apartment is in a great position near the metro and in the middle of many neighbourhoods so this was a real bonus.
There are 4 flights of stairs so not for the faint hearted. The apartment faces east /west so does warm up fairly quickly and air con is a bit dated.
The noise from the road works outside the house was VERY LOUD- and started from 10pm to at least 2am 5 nights a week. Fortunately they did have the weekends off so we could recover. One night we could hardly hear ourselves talk. We were staying for 10 nights so that was a while to cope with the noise- a shorter stay wouldn't bother anyone.
Overall this was a great place to stay although the road works look like they are ongoing as the road opposite is permanently blocked off full of machinery so bring your ear plugs. Otherwise I reccommend the Bowery for the space and ambience after days and nights of exploring the city.
Alicia was a wonderful guest. She stayed with us for 10 days and became quickly a part of the family. Very sweet and easy to deal with, she's fun, personable and a pleasure to be around.
Wonderful guest! Very communicative, clean, kind, and also quick to respond. Would definitely recommend to all. Thank you, Alicia!
Alicia is a great friend and an amazing colleague. I can definitively say that she has great taste in pretty much anything she has an interest in. Her work as a stylist is among the best I've ever seen, and her apartment is one of the coolest apartments I've ever visited.
What's more, she is super organized and a very good communicator. So as an airbnb host and traveller myself, I would highly recommend her as a host.
