The Nest was a well appointed and comfortable house with a lovely valley to estuary view. We were very impressed with the kind welcome on our late arrival, the warming fire was lovely! Kai and Katherine were very considerate hosts and were always on hand for any question.
Whilst the Nest is a comfortable house, it has a lot of stairs and may not suit elderly or young children well. Though our kids (3 and 5 were fine). As it is in a shaded spot it does get chilly so light the fire each night. Also it is quite old fashioned but we kind of liked some of the more eccentric fittings. It was well priced and a good location
We would recommend for an affordable family visit to Christchurch.
Thanks again Kai and Katherine
Thank you very much for the great review you wrote
Very highly appreciated.
Thank you ever so much for choosing to stay with us in the first place.
It was really nice to get to meet you all.

The Nest was an ideal location for our family visit to Christchurch. Kathryn and Kai made us more than welcome after 19 hours of travel and had the fire burning which is where the kids were most of the time. We have 3 kids (four to eleven) and there was plenty of space for all of us and I can't think of any thing we would have needed that was not already there. I grew up in Christchurch and while the city is a little worse for wear Mount Pleasant is a very easy location to get around from. You are 7 minutes from the city and 10 - 15 minutes from any major route out of the city. And the view is spectacular. Thanks Kathryn & Kai - you have a great place!!!
My family had a great experience at the Nest. We were warmly welcomed and felt like at home. The view is amazing, while what impressed us most is the enthusiasm of the hosts. Kathryn is very helpful and the notes in the house are detailed. The location is convenient and it's just five minutes drive to countdown supermarket. We all had a great memory here and will sure stay again if any opportunity to come back to Christchurch. Thank you Kathryn and Kai!
My husband and I had a nice, relaxing weekend at the Nest. It was just what we needed! Kathryn and Kai were very welcoming and knowledgeable. Their Nest is lovely- we spent most of the weekend by the fire, enjoying the lovely view. With a car, it is easy to get around- we found a few hiking spots nearby. We hope to return one day!
Kai & Kathryn are so kind host, we enjoy our stays at NEST. Everything is perfect same as picture. But a little bit cold at night. Wanna come back.

Kathryn and Kai were very helpful and friendly. The house was lovely too and and the perfect kitchen for our cooking. Not forgetting the fireplace that warms us up during the cold nights!
Kylie and her family were delightful people to meet and host.
Thank you very much for choosing to stay with us at the Nest.
We were very surprised! The house is amazing! Located in the forest, with nice decoration.
We had a great time at The Nest, which is a lovely place to be. Kathyn was there to wlcome us & to say godbye & couldn't have been more welcoming & helpful. Although Mount Pleasant was badly hit in the hurricane, it is a nice area to stay in & not far from Sumner & the Banks Peninsula. We'd happily stay there again, & for longer.
We were in contact with Kathryn and Kai at various times since it was unclear as to when we were arriving. We got to meet to Kathryn who was at the Nest to greet us and provided us with great deal of useful information. The Nest was bigger and better than depicted in the pictures and more than adequate for the four of us. The Nest was reasonably easy to find, although we had a GPS. The local area had great views and was very safe and friendly. Currently, the roads around Christchurch and Mt Pleasant are still under repair and require extra extra time to drive around. There is a supermarket close by and a great Pub "The Claddagh" that is worth visiting. We all had a great time in Christchurch and enjoyed returning home to the Nest. We would recommend the Nest to anyone thinking of visiting Christchurch.
