Nice quite location. Was with my wife and kids (7 & 10). Sofa was large enough for the little people. Bed was also fine for us. Milk OJ and Bread were provided as promised. Parking was easy, just pay attention to which days the streets are cleaned or you will be ticketed. (not us, but others were). We were a walk/drive to the C-store and the incredible Atwater Market. This is our 7th stay in Montreal in 10 yrs. We would recommend this apartment with no worries. Was clean and ready to go. Only 1 suggestion. Pack a 20" box fan and extension cord for the front window to get the air moving. Apartment was cool and well shaded, never got hot even though the Jazz Fest and Old Montreal were HOT. Cheers
We had a great time at Lucia & Marc's place. We especially enjoyed the quick access to the canal, and we made several trips to the Atwater Market, both on foot and Bixi bikes. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, not as trendy or active as the Plateau area. The apartment is cute and had the basics that we needed. Overall, a positive experience.
We're just back from a marvelous trip to Montreal, much facilitated by our pleasant accommodations at Marc and Lucia's charming apartment. Their neighborhood is quiet, and we felt safe there, perhaps partly due to the presence of two large, historic churches which dominate the opposite side of the street. Neighbors were quiet so we were able to sleep quite soundly. It was nice to be able to enter and exit the apartment through a pleasant, flower-lined courtyard, rather than the street. This added to our sense of privacy and security. Our hosts' hospitality was wonderful--we were greeted and orientated to the apartment by Marc and Lucia's friend Samuel, who could not have been more pleasant, prompt, cordial and professional. We found the refrigerator had been stocked with essentials to get us going each day: orange juice, bread, jam and milk. Coffee was also provided--the 'sine qua non' for us. We were delighted to find equipment for either espresso or French press coffee. It was also wonderful to have a clothes washing machine and a drying rack at our disposal, along with a supply of laundry detergent. We replaced the coffee, an 'included' item--to help compensate for our use of a little laundry detergent. Shower soap, clean towels and bed linens were also included. One of the most wonderful features of the apartment for us was the use of two bicycles, and the generous loan of two Bixi 'keys'. We made good use of these! Just a 15-minute bike ride brought us to the Old Port, from where we continued on foot or by bike into central Montreal. The apartment's location is very convenient. Charlevoix metro stop is just a block-and-a-half away (well, this is what it felt like :-)...), and a Bixi station is just half a block in the other direction. A short bike ride along Canal de Lachine took us to Atwater Market, a fabulous source of top-quality breakfast croissants, ready-made sandwiches, and copious, fresh produce and meat. We cooked with friends at a different apartment, but every utensil needed to prepare a full meal was readily available at Lucia and Marc's. By the end of our stay it felt as though our hosts were old friends who'd generously loaned us their place, simply pushing aside their own belongings to make room for us amid their busy lives. If you are comfortable staying at your college-age or busy young professional friend's place while they are away, then you will feel right at home at Marc and Lucia's. This was a different experience for us from our first airbnb rental in Paris, which was a furnished but otherwise empty apartment dedicated to paying guests only, and maintained by a professional housekeeper. But Marc, Lucia and Samuel's hospitality was warm and generous, the location was great and the price was right. We are grateful that Lucia and Marc have so trustingly opened their home to adventurous travelers. We wish for them to have similarly trustworthy and conscientious guests in the...
We stayed for three nights and were very happy with our decision. Lucia was out of town so her friend Sam set up a time to meet us. He showed us the place and had some suggestions for what to see while we were in Montreal.
The apartment was great, clean and the pictures were true to the place. The location was awesome (close to downtown). We suggest going to Chez Paul's for a quick bite...2 blocks from the house. Great food, the owner was awesome and he had a great history of the area.
The bixi bike membership was awesome to have! We biked into old Montreal the one day (took us 25 mins with trading bikes, taking walks and resting). There were two bikes to use as well but we enjoyed the bixi bikes.
Overall we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again.
Lucia & Marc were very welcoming hosts. Their flat was beautiful and well maintained. Their apartment was in a great neighborhood and the bike service was fantastic. We had an excellent stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Montreal.
Great stay in Montreal for Grand Prix. Fantastic location, used the hosts bikes to cycle down to the racetrack. Couldn't have asked for more!
Lucia and Marc's place was perfect as a base for our few days in Montreal. As keen cyclists we were able to use the nearby Bixi station for local trips (including to the amazing Atwater Market) and take the metro into town from just down the road. We were made to feel really welcome by Lucia who showed us around the apartment and gave us some great tips about things to find in the neighbourhood. A great place and great hosts!
Lucia was very nice and flexible with checking-in/out. She has been very careful about the breakfast and my parent's needs in general.
The appartement is very quiet, perfectly clean and very comfy for a couple. It is close to the Atwater market (Beautiful flowers, delicious fruits and vegetables) and the Canal Lachine which is wonderful to ride by bike or by foot!
The metro is 10 minutes by walk and there is a bus that goes downtown!
My parents said they would stay to the same place if they would come back to Montréal!
Amazing guests - very good communication - flat was so clean!
I highly recommend them!:)
Lucia and her Mum Susannah were lovely guests. Interesting and always happy to share treats they had picked up as they visited lovely places from Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle to trips to Oxford, as well as walks locally to Borough Market and The George pub. They were trusted friends by the time they left and would always be welcome guests here again.
Lucia was an exceptional guest! She was able to navigate herself to the apartment even though my directions were clearly off. Plus, she was very friendly, clean, and quiet. Would recommend to anyone as a guest!
Lucia is an extremely friendly person, really easy-going and open to meet new people. They are for sure your best option if you are looking where to stay in Montreal as they LOVE the place and can help you around the city.
