J'aime beaucoup recevoir des gens de passage dans mes appartements, c'est une manière de voyager. L'univers de mes appartements est très singulier. La richesse d'objets et la diversité de couleurs et de matières en font un endroit très chaleureux.

The historic centre of Montpellier offers a fantastic variety of winding side streets, unexpected squares, historic buildings, aromatic boulangeries and interesting markets. In planning our visit to this thriving Mediterranean city, we were concerned with finding accommodation that was at the heart of this touristic smorgasbord.
This was our first time using the Airbnb website, so we were a little unsure of what to expect. From the outset, any queries we had about this apartment were responded to promptly and professionally by the owner, Alexandre. We were hiring a car for our stay in Montpellier, so the availability of city centre parking was a real plus.
On arriving in Place des Martyrs de la Résistance on Easter Monday, we were met by Alexandre who brought us the short distance to the apartment, which is situated on the second floor of one of Montpellier’s grand old buildings. My initial impression was very positive and I had the reassuring sense that the description and images of the accommodation on the Airbnb website were entirely accurate.
While compact, the spotlessly clean apartment proved sufficiently spacious for our party of four adults, even allowing for the low ceiling of the mezzanine. The furnishings were comfortable, and the kitchen proved ideal for our needs. At the end of each evening, its proximity to numerous restaurants and bars, meant that it was never more than a short walk back. The homely nature of the apartment also proved an ideal space to conclude each night in a relaxed and convivial setting, something that was important for our family group.
Alexandre himself proved to be a very warm, friendly and reliable host. His recommendations of places to see, good restaurants, where to buy food, etc. were excellent. If we needed assistance with anything, he responded immediately and with good humour.
Overall, our four days in Montpellier were thoroughly enjoyable, an experience added to in no small way by our genial host and his elegant apartment.
