Raised in New York, toughened up in Beijing, now rocking out in San Francisco with a few detours along the way!
After college and working for several years in the US, I moved to China in 2008 to experience the excitement of its roaring economy and the blossoming of its music and arts scenes, as well as (re)discover China after 25+ years away. After an exhilarating four years in the Mainland, I'm back in the US and (re)discovering the Americas.
Having Couchsurfed and hosted many a traveler myself, I am respectful of my host's home and customs. I try not to interfere too much with the host's daily life, unless they are open to engaging and sharing a bit of it with their guest.
My Favorite Travel Experiences:
Bicycled on Angkor Thom's walls. Saw the sunrise from deep playa in Black Rock City. Climbing Mt Kinabalu with the second oldest guide in the village. Camping in an ancient redwood grove in Mendocino. Eating an epic wedding feast in Fréjus with my family and friends.
My life motto: Do one thing every day that scares you.
