This review is quite exaggerated and inaccurate. The only real problem was that the DVD player was broken (actually nobody complained about that before because nobody used it for years, I supposed that the reason why it was broken).
1. Quite a number of the facilities didn't work? The only thing that didn't work in the apartment was the DVD. Catrina complained about a DVD which didn't work. I bought a new microwave and TV (because they were a bit old, but worked) and a DVD for them in order to try to make them happy (something that they didn't mention in the review). For some reason we couldn't make the DVD work with the TV, so I offered them the DVD as a Christmas present to take for their next 2 destinations so they could watch all the DVDs they had with them but they didn't accept the present.
2. They didn't tell me anything about the house not being clean, I would have cleaned myself if they had complained about that during their stay, as I went to the apartment 3 times during their stay to bring them things. To be honest in the 3 times I went there I didn't find it particularly dusty or dirty, and I also did the cleaning for the following booking myself and I didn't find any greasy cupboards or public toilet smell.
In conclusion I think this family expected the service of a 4* hotel in an economic rental apartment and they were quite impolite not accepting the DVD player as a present or value all the efforts that I made to solve the DVD issue (I bought 2 different DVD players), which was apparently a key element for their Christmas holidays.
