I'm married in my mid 50's with two sons in their twenties now making their own ways in life. With our boys semi independent, we now have a new freedom to use our holidays from work to explore and travel as a couple or separately.
I have travelled to South America, Costa Rica, Nepal and India and I have always wanted to visit Canada. I work for an organisation called Advicenow that provides a web based legal information service for the public in England & Wales and I have been awarded a Travelling Fellowship by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust to study Public Legal Education services in Canada. My husband and I are having a fortnight's holiday in the first two weeks of September finishing in Vancouver and then I am continuing on my research trip for five weeks until late October, travelling across Canada by train.
I love books, theatre, singing, walking in the mountains and countryside with friends, sharing meals with friends and family.
I will leave the place where I stay as I found it and am happy to help where required. I'd love to get your ideas and advice about things to do in your local area when we meet. I really don't want to stay in large, impersonal hotels. I can be both quiet and self sufficient but also enjoy hearing about other people's lives and experiences.
