Everything was great! Was a perfect spot for my mom to stay during PhD graduation! The flowers awaiting her arrival were a really nice touch.
Is it possible to have an oasis in the middle of an oasis? I think that it may be. Meredith's apartment is a lovely, charming nook of a place, which must actually be small, but it's so tastefully appointed and has such an efficient layout (esp the kitchen) that it almost seems roomy. It's situated in a classy, old-school apt complex that feels like a movie set. But perhaps the best part is the neighborhood. A brief stroll of a few short blocks, past the 19th century home/studio of sculptor Elisabeth Ney, delivers you to the quaint little Hyde Park neighborhood shopping strip (center is too strong a word) with a handful of time-tested cafes, restaurants, cheese and coffee shops, a food store, a juice bar, the best convenience store in America, and even a little laundry mat. If, for some reason, you feel the need to leave the neighborhood, right across the street from the apt is a bus stop with a direct shot downtown. If you're looking for a relaxing, stress-free weekend in Austin, look no further.
I stayed here with a friend for SXSW (which I don't think we will be coming back for, it's way too crazy, but that has nothing to do with this place)! The apartment was very cute and clean, and Meredith had laid out clean sheets and towels for us. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and right across the street from a bus stop. The bus took about 20 minutes to downtown and was an easy ride we took every day.
Thank you again!
Meredith was the perfect host! I stayed there during SXSW Interactive. Although it is more ideal to stay in Downtown for a conference, the cost of staying at this apartment (saved me at least $1000 for that week) is well worth it. There is a bus right across the street that takes you straight to Downtown. It's also a cute neighborhood with a few spots to try, including an amazing cheese shop and two coffee shops in walking distance.
Meredith made sure I had everything I needed before I got to the apartment, and she left some breakfast and coffee items, fresh towels, and a list of places to go (plus flowers, which was a nice touch). There's also a cute little balcony right outside the bedroom. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone who is interested in staying in this area. Thanks again for the hospitality.
Charming apartment, clean, comfortable bed, fresh flowers, and it comes with a wonderful surprise. Meredith is an accommodating host. This place is a gem.
Beautiful little apartment in a wonderful neighborhood! I would definitely recommend this space to out of town friends.

Merci beaucoup, Jj!
Having Meredith stay was a joy. She was friendly, warm and respectful in our home. We really enjoyed her company and going for dinner. Would love to welcome her back any time and would highly recommend opening your home to her too.
