I had a great experience in Austin at Xing's place. The room is very basic and having a private bathroom is very convenient. The apartment is nice and clean. The location is excellent! Right on S Congress near stores and restaurants. Also very easy to get to from the airport. I highly recommend Xing's place.
Excellent location on s congress but the apt complex is a maze of college kids. Bad news is there was a mix up with his roommate on dates so we arrived to learn that we couldn't stay there!! (This happened even though I emailed the roommate in the afternoon about our eta!) Getting alternative accommodations proved difficult because UT was having some event that weekend and all the hotels in town were sold out. Good news is that he completely refunded the cost. Bottom line - if you're in your early 20s and want prime location for cheaper than a hotel, this place is probably great. Otherwise I would happily pay more to avoid this scene. We ended up staying about a 15 min drive away from downtown and had no trouble driving in, parking on residential street right off congress all day, and walking around to our heart's content.
Good host and great roommate. Barnett, his roommate, told us a lot about Austin and what to do and not do. Room was clean and affordable. We had 5 people in our group and we all fit comfortably. If I ever go back to Austin, I'll definitely be staying there.
Great place close to the heart of Austin. Clean and comfortable place to stay.
It was a great place to stay for Southby. Quiet. Barnett is super chill. Would do it again.
The apartment is located in a really cool neighborhood (South Congress) with many nice shops, cafés, and bars. Moreover, public transportation is really good, but you can also easily walk downtown within 20 minutes or so.
In spite of positive email contact before our arrival, we were a bit disappointed about some aspects in the apartment itself. Xing was not in Austin during our stay. My friend and I stayed with his roommate who did not appear to be very approachable; the bathtub was gross, our towels stank. One day we had no electricity and WiFi; after telling Xing's roommate about it he replied that he has taken care of the problems, which was good.
Though our individual perception is slightly downgraded by the aspects just mentioned, the location of the apartment itself is a perfect spot to start your exploration of Austin :-).
Enjoyed a great conversation with Barnett the first night. The place has a wonderful location half a block from the Continental Club. I would recommend it for longer-term stays because it's a little complicated to get into at first. The space is very minimalist and the temperature is quite cool. The weather was unseasonably cold when we were there. It was pretty casual and the bedroom and bathroom needed a good clean. We were given an out of date car gate code but luckily we got the new code in time so it was not inconvenient. Note, there is no elevator so unless you have a car, you'll be carrying your bags up a few flights of stairs. I would stay here again!
Great Location!! Having never been to Austin, I found myself within walking distance of the all the great areas in the city. Nice and clean apartment!
This was an extremely convenient location, close to everything we wanted to do and just steps from delicious food. It was a nice apartment with a great view of downtown and it made our experience fantastic.
The room was as advertised, not super clean but definitely OK for me. The directions were accurate and I had everything I needed. The apartment is in a great neighbourhood with bars, restaurants and cafes. Enjoyed my stay!
Xing is a nice guest. He keeps the public area neat and is easy to communicate with. He was very helpful when I moved the furniture in my apartment. As he is an airbnb host too, he gave me valuable advices :）
Xing is an awesome guest. We share a lot of the same hobbies, he's a great conversationalist, and had some excellent recommendations of his own about Shanghai!
Looking forward to seeing him when he's back in town
Didn't get to see him this time. But hope will host him again next time!
Xing is a very nice guest. Polite, neat and easy to communicate with. A good guest I will recommend to everyone.
It's been a real pleasure to host and meet Xing ! Just arrived at home, he already started to move by himself in the city, with one of our bikes! Really outgoing and funny guy, we've spent time with him going out and showing him our best places. We had fun, and we continue to keep in touch, as for he's living in China now. Energyc and adventurous person he knows how Airbnb rules work. We highly recommend him as guest!
Very nice guest!
Great guest. Easy to host.
Xing and Angela were great guests. They are an example of why Hosts should set their preferences to allow for one night guests. Great energy, communicative, and self-reliant. I'm sorry we didn't have more time to chat. I hope to be their Host again.
Clear communication, easy to be around, wonderful guests!
Xing is very nice, independent person. It was really easy to communicate with him, so I don't have much to say but very, very positive things :)
Xing is one of my best friends. We met through a mutual friend a few years ago, and we've become very close. From rock climbing at Smith Rock (in Oregon), to roadtripping from Chicago to Seattle, to biking on the Coeur d'Alene, Xing and I have shared so many amazing experiences.
Some of my favorite things about Xing are his resourceful problem-solving and his eagerness to help anyone and everyone. (Just one example: he has fixed friends' bikes--including mine--countless times without their asking). He's friendly, warm, thoughtful, and genuine. He's always smiling, and he brightens up any room he walks into.
He's a generous friend, an excellent travel buddy, a great guest, and a hospitable host. Basically, he's the type of person you'd be overjoyed to bring to your mother's Sunday dinner.
