Steven and Rachel were great hosts. Rachel met me outside their apartment and gave me the tour around their spacious loft in NE Portland. They had prepared for our arrival by laying out towels, soap, spare toiletries, and the like. It's also worth mentioning that they were very respectful of our space: case in point, they forgot something in the loft they needed to grab. Steven got in contact with me, asked permission to enter, and gave a specific time he'd be by to grab it. Great hosts, felt very much at home!
This was such a wonderful experience. Steve was a great host, very communicative throughout and really nice. The apartment is a HUGE studio and beautiful, with tall windows, a full size kitchen and bath, and plenty of room to walk, stretch, lounge. Loved the neighborhood too. Walking distance to Eritrean restaurants, groceries, coffee and yoga/fitness places. We had bikes, and the street outside the apartment is a straight shot on bike to downtown Portland (Thanks Steven for the orientation). Also walkable/bikeable to lots of other neighborhoods. Awesome place, nice people. Would love to stay here again.
Nice large loft in a nice area. We had a nice stay. Short drive to a cool brewery called Ex Novo that had their opening while we were there.
This was a great place, except for the strong incense/perfume smell in the place. Nothing that bad, it was just a bit overwhelming for me.
We stayed at Stevens during a roadtrip through the Pacific Northwest and it was a great base for exploring Portland. We stayed there It was super easy to find, in a great location, and had very easy street parking. The apartment was very spacious, clean, and had everything you would need while traveling: towels, toiletries, wifi, and a balcony perfect to share a beer on a hot summer afternoon. It was also very close to the "Florida Room" which had the best gin cooler for a summer day. While we were there we rented bikes and we found that everything was fairly close( the Alberta district, the river esplanade, downtown, new seasons market).
Steven was also a great host. During our stay my sister made a surprise visit from Seattle and needed a place to stay the night and Steven was very accommodating, letting us use his airbed.
Overall a great experience.
Steven was nice and easy to work with. His apartment was in a convenience location, pub and convenience store were nearby. It's also very close to major bus lines, and it's about 30 minutes bus ride to downtown. If you drive, you will find easy street parking. People from the neighborhood were nice and helpful.
The apartment was at the intersection of two major streets, thus, the buses sound could be a little noisy in the morning if you have windows open, however, if you are from big city, those noise won't be a problem.
We had a pleasant stay at Steven's apartment, and I would recommend it.
Great central space in Northeast! We had a great long weekend, at this super spacious and clean studio. We felt like Portland locals and were able to provide a great space for friends to drop by and enjoy the patio. Enjoyed fruit and tea left on the counter, super soft towels, and a very comfortable bed. Wifi worked great, and Steven was available to answer any questions that arose. Super sweet spot.
Steven was there to greet us and very nice. His location was organized, but could have been wiped down more. We had a pleasant stay. The location is 30-45 min away from the city center by public transportation, so I considered it quite far without a car. This is my fault for not researching it more thoroughly, though.
All-in-all, the stay was fine.
My boyfriend and I stayed in Steven's walk-up during our first trip to Portland. It was also our first experience using Airbnb. We could not have asked for a better experience for either! Steven was prompt and friendly in replying to our request to book for the dates we needed. When we got to the apartment, he had a plate of fresh fruit and an awesome selection of tea waiting for us. The walk-up is spacious and roomy, lots of windows and light coming in- it's beautiful. And located perfectly: in a quiet neighborhood, close to every bus stop you could need- with the Alberta Arts district a short, pretty walk or a short easy bus ride away.
We stayed for five days- and on the last day we had some confusion with our ride to the airport and needed to move our check-out time back a few hours. We called Steven, and again, he was so friendly and accommodating. We were still there when he got back, and he was friendly and welcoming, even though we were there past our new check-out time!
It was a perfect experience. And we have Steven to thank for how well our whole trip went.
Steve is a good friend! He is incredibly nice, generous and warm person. He is very dependable and giving and would gladly lend a hand whenever needed. I know him through his girlfriend, Rachel, who is a good friend of mine.
Their apartment is comfortable, nice, relaxing, and in a great location (close to Alberta st. and Williams ave. , and Mississippi ave. and near public transportation).
I would highly recommend steve as a guest or host. He is very nice, funny and reliable, and the apartment is clean!
