My husband and I stayed at Pilar’s apartment in Greenpoint for one month. Although we did not meet her in person, I found Pilar flexible and easy to communicate with. Upon my arrival (my husband arrived on a later flight) she had her friend present to greet me. The apartment was clean and tidy for our arrival. Check-in was quite easy, especially considering it was delayed by one day due to bad weather and flight cancellations into NYC.
The apartment is true to the photos. It’s very bright. The kitchen was well-stocked, has newer appliances, and was more than adequate for cooking during our stay. The apartment was easy to heat, but we found most of the heat went up to the loft, leaving the bottom floor a bit chilly. (Note - as with most NYC lofts we were not able to stand fully while on the loft level). The balcony is large and I can imagine it being quite nice to be out there in warmer weather. Lastly, we both really liked the projector for watching movies on the wall, projector and surround-sound were easy to hook up to our laptops. Although the bed was small for two people (a full-size I believe) we found we slept pretty nightly.
Access to Manhattan (Union Square) is quite easy on the subway, although the G is a slow line. In warmer weather I would consider walking over the Pulaski Bridge to the 7 (Vernon-Jackson stop) in Queens for 1 stop access to Grand Central.
Our main concern about the apartment was the tightness and lack of space. The apartment, though large for NYC, felt tight due to the layout of the furniture and the lack of space left for us to store our suitcases/belongings/clothes. This left us with an feeling of not really being able to feel settled during our rental time, and never getting fully organized. With the lack of personal space, I’d think the apartment is better for short-term stays than longer.
I have stayed at a few Airbnb properties in Brooklyn but this was far and away my favorite experience. Felt much more like I was staying at someones home instead of in a spare bedroom turned hostel/hotel. Greenpoint is a great location. The loft is spacious and reasonably priced especially considering the amount of space you get. I don't have enough good things to say about our stay! Thank you!
The moment you step into Pilar’s apartment you feel at home it is very clean, organized, and full of natural light that makes staying a very pleasant event. The neighborhood is a family residential area full of nice restaurants, cafés, some supermarkets and even bakeries. As for the transportation you can easily reach any area at New York using the train or ferry. Staying at Pilar’s made our family reunion a success and if we ever travel to New York once again we will definitely try to reserve the place once again.
Pilar's flat is the BEST experience we have had on airbnb. The flat is VERYclean and tidy. Pilar was accommodating for our arrival and departure times. Her flat was stocked with supplies and linens, and she even left some welcoming food for us in her fridge. Her deck with a BBQ was a special treat, and there is even a view of the Empire State Building! The G line is a block away, which connects to the L, a straight shot to Manhattan. The neighborhood is quiet and local stores are easily accessible. Thank you, Pilar, for an excellent 16-day stay.
at the next posting to NY I would again take the Apartment.

The apt is great but it was a little cold because you're not supposed to touch the heating regulator.
Great apt and neighbourhood.
Pilar was travelling so her friends where in charge. I forgot a couple of items there and they didn't help me giving them back.
We absolutely LOVED staying in Pilar's apartment! It was very spacious and had great amenities like laundry in the apartment and WiFi. The building was beautiful with a fantastic view of Manhattan and the bridges. It was also conveniently located with coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, subway and a ferry to Manhattan located within walking distance. We stay in Brooklyn every year for an event and always stay in an Airbnb apartment - this one was by far the nicest and most comfortable place we have ever stayed! Thanks so much, Pilar! We will definitely be looking for your apartment again next year!
Staying in Pilar's appartment for a few days in New York really made the trip and allowed me to experience a side of the city I had not seen before in Williamsburg.
Checking in couldn't have been easier and the place itself was absolutely great, overlooking the East River. Lower Manhattan, Williamsburg, Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges are all in full view from each of the rooms. It was a great to be able to leave the intensity and humidity of the island and make our way back on the East River Ferry to the block, about 2 mins walk away.
Pilar was a great host, very easy to get hold of everything in terms of clean towels, bed linen etc were all provided. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here and very much hope to again myself in the future.
Great guest - easy to communicate with. Recommended.
