We are Tom and Amy. Amy works for the might Alamo Drafthouse movie theater and Tom runs the Institution Theater (improv, sketch, and stand up comedy). So we MIGHT have some recommendations of fun things to do around town.

We had business at UT that took me to Austin for 4 days, so we needed a walkable space with a good workstation for working "from home," too. I'm kinda picky, and Amy's place did not disappoint! Cozy, clean, with super soft sheets and a big kitchen table for working and eating and a nice chair for reading. Windows to let in the light and trees to make you feel concealed. A clean bathroom with a tile stall shower. There were even cans of co-cola in the fridge!
The casita is set aside from a main house; you are behind their yard and the garage, which makes you feel very much "on your own"-- ina good way. And you can walk to very good breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, and cocktails (all on Manor). UT is an easy 20-30 minute walk. And Amy was just a great hostess. There was a little problem with the Wi-fi when we arrived, and she and Tom were so communicative and helpful until things were fixed. After that, she gave us total privacy. I'm bookmarking this place to stay in again the next time I roll through town.
We had a great experience with Amy's place. It was quiet, private and they left us lots of towels and basics. Even a handy guide of what to do. The location is just great, with lots of yummy restaurants just around the counter including a wonderful coffee spot, and easy access to the highway.
My boyfriend and I came to Austin for SXSW and found Amy's place to be the perfect home for a first trip to Austin! It is extremely clean and has everything you need: storage space, a comfortable bed with plenty of pillows, a guide book and other reading books (guidebook was very helpful!), a full kitchen, and a nice bathroom. Amy was a gracious host and told us everything we needed to know about the area and getting around. It was a short bus ride to downtown for all the festivities. A very cute neighborhood and within walking distance to several eateries and a gas station too. It really felt like home and it was nice to be able to cook some meals and not eat out all the time. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks Amy!
Great little apartment, fully fitted out with everything one would need in the kitchen, etc. Parking spot. A stone's throw from the UT campus and a short drive from downtown.
I had a great stay at Amy's place. it was spacious and located in a perfect spot to take in Austin.
We loved staying at Amy's spacious apartment! Location was great, easy access to downtown and walking distance to several restaurants. Apartment was clean and cozy. Amy was a great host. Would stay again!
Amy's place was perfect! Great area close to campus and lots of yummy restaurants. Very comfortable and quiet. Amy was there to greet us and see if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend! Thanks Amy!!
We had a great time staying at Amy's! The place was lovely, the location was convenient to most neighborhoods in Austin, and it was very close to public transportation. Amy was very responsive to all our questions and needs and recommended a few local eateries. Beautiful, fantastic, couldn't have hoped for a better lodging experience for our first visit to Austin.
Amy and Tom were wonderful guests, and took great care of the Spartan, for which I am very grateful. Their stay was a brief one, and I would heartily welcome them back again!
Amy was an ideal renter. She left the place clean and I would be happy to rent to her again anytime!
