This apartment is in great part of Rome - one block off of the vibrant Campo dei Fiori. From here you can walk to most all of the city (or catch a taxi which are plentiful).
The owner, Pascale, is very kind, help set up a terrific driver to pick us up and drop us off at the airport, and was willing to meet us and let us into the apartment early on the morning of check-in as it wasn't rented the night before (don’t expect this is high season).
The duplex apartment, on the 4th and 5th floors of this corner building, is quite comfortable. On the first level is a comfortable living room/dining area, a small kitchen and a master bedroom with a comfortable firm queen size bed (I am 6’3” and picky about bed sizes and mattresses - this one passed the test) and full bath.
The second level is a bedroom with two single beds - perfect for our 17 and 20 year old children, and a bathroom with a shower. From this level is a door to the terrace. As it was February, we were only able to enjoy sitting out there one afternoon, sipping lemoncello. I can see this as a big plus in spring/summer/fall where you can buy wine/cheese/meats from the market and have lunch, early afternoon snacks or dinner. There’s an additional rooftop deck as well. You can see St. Peter’s Dome off in the distance from both.
The owners keep the apartment fully stocked with good linens and towels (along with fresh oranges, jams and a bottle of wine).
Anyone coming to Rome needs to understand that it can be a noisy city, this is not tranquil Tuscany. The Campo has a market every day which is terrific, as well as great cafés, bars and restaurants – which all leads to a lot of foot traffic, from the late night party types to the early morning set-up of the market. So you’re living with this lifestyle. Note you need to climb a lot of steps to the apartment, up a winding circular staircase to reach the apartment, then the narrow circular staircase to the 2nd floor bedroom. It is necessary to be healthy and agile for this place.
Our stay was just perfect, the flat was amazing and the localization very great, and Enzo and Guglielmo nice and very helpful. THANK YOU so much!!
Very nice apartment, very well located, excelent neighbourhood, near subway stations. The apartment clean and spacious. It has a parking space that is ideal if you rent a car. The host always very kind, fast to answers any questions. I definitely recommend this place to have a nice stay in Paris.
The flat is located in a very nice and friendly neighborhood. It's perfectly surrounded by nearby boulangeries, Monoprix, varied restaurants and even fast food chains McDonald's and Burger King. And it is quite near the metro.
Guglielmo's apartment, while it was able to accommodate all 5 of us, is more well-suited for a couple. It is a lovely place, with the living area opening to a nice balcony.
Internet access was fast. The only downside to this rental are the following:
1) No elevators/lifts. We had to carry our luggages all 3 floors up through a sort of spiral staircase.
2) Towels and bedsheets are old. Washed but old.
3) One of the double size sofa beds needs repair and is only good for one person.
4) Taking a shower was a huge challenge - there aren't any curtain showers and one has to take a bath sitting in the bath tub so as not to spill water on the floor.
5) There is a cap to electricity usage. If one exceeds the 50 euros allocation for the duration of the stay, that's additional cost. We had turn off the heating system every time we left the apartment.
Overall, the apartment is nice and cozy. While it needs improvement, especially the bathroom, the location would make me want to go back and rent it again.
The place is very well located. Great terrace!
Very cosy and in the middle of the most beautiful part of traditional Rome. Warm welcome, clean appartment. Suitable for 2 people. Nice restaurants and bars around.
An absolutely beautiful villa - Guglielmo has created a stunning space that manages to combine the sleek and modern look with a real feeling of home. The garden is great with lots of trees and shrubs, as well as the pool, which is perfect. He is a really helpful host - even arranged to have us met at the motorway exit 15km away to make sure we could find our way. No hesitation in recommending this to anyone who likes a bit of classy seclusion!
Guglielmo was very responsive and friendly with all our communications. Unfortunately he wasn't able to greet us when we arrived. However, his representative was very nice on the phone and she had a very nice young man meet us at the apartment. He explained everything to us thoroughly. I believe that the webpage was accurate, sometimes it is had to see everything clearly. I know for myself, now, that I should have asked more questions. Guglielmo had mentioned there was a coffee house across the street, and I knew the area was very busy, but unfortunately for older travelers the late night busyness was too much for us.
The location can't be beat; so central you can walk everywhere and the restaurants, shopping and activities in the neighborhood are great. I do love it.
Thanks Guglielmo! We really appreciate you sharing your apartment with us.
Hola! Todo muy bien! La ubicación súper buena..
Thanks Facu, I appreciated working with you
My son was being ordained a Priest in the Vatican, so I needed to rent 8 apartments in Rome. I had one family member who could not walk very far, and this apartment was great because it is very near St. Peter's. Very roomy, with a great view of the Tiber. Guglielmo was extremely helpful. Would definitely rent again.
Il y a des hôtes qu'on regrette de laisser. C'est le cas de Guglielmo et de sa compagne, avec qui j'aurais volontiers fait plus ample connaissance.
Likewise Elsa, we really regretted to leave and we're looking fwd to be back asap
Guglielmo was a very reliable and communicative guest. Everything went well and he is welcome any time!
He's fantastic .Laid back . A very cool cat. A great guest to have.
11 out of 10*
guest was great would have him stay again.
Guglielmo was the perfect guest: polite and friendly, neat and tidy. I wish for more visitors like him. Welcome back anytime, Guglielmo (great name, too).
Guglielmo was communicative and on time with respect to checking in and out. It was great to host someone who had such respect for the space and gratitude. Hope to meet him next time!
Guglielmo and his family were very sweet guests. He is personable, communicative and easy going...we wish them a fantastic journey!
Guglielmo is a very cool and nice guest - flexible and easy to talk to. And he had a lot of praise for my place, so what's not to like ;-)He's welcome here again!
I Give Guglielmo my best recommendation. he is always welcome :)
I know Guglielmo personally I also list my apartments in his websites because he is very professional, experienced and trustworthy. I highly recommend him!
Guglielmo is the only person you'll ever need to talk to regarding basically anything in Rome. His places are great value and very well taken care of. He's an expert, he's professional, and the best part: he's not a robot :)
Everyone, if you are looking for a reliable host Guglielmo maybe the right person for you. I've been able to see the way he takes care personally of all the little and big needs of his guests and i can ensure you he followed up each one of them almost maniacally...! He makes a great guide too. On your arrival he would show you the sorroundings and their peculiarities and answer to all of your questions. A very descreet landlord, he's always just a phone call away to answer to all of your guest's"thousand questions".
You can tell he's a traveller himself: in a bolt of lightning he gets the picture of what you are asking for.
Definetely reccomended, in particular for families.
