Mai was a great host, with a spacious apartment.
The front door lock is a little tricky, and had some inital trouble getting into the apartment, but we got it after a few trys.
The spacious, five floor walk up is in a great location to explore the entire city, and the five flights of stairs was a great way to work off all the pizza we were eating!
The apartment slept three of us and many, many, many shopping bags - with everything you could need for a long or short stay to the city! only one block from the Subway, it was easy to get both up and downtown.
Chelsea is a great area, and as three girls that stayed we all felt super safe around the area both day and night.
A Starbucks across the road, and food market just down the street, everything you need is so close by..
The view from the apartment, and the rooftop of the empire state building and 6th avenue is pretty special and reminds you daily that you are in the greatest city on earth.
The only downside to Mai's fantastic apartment was the shower pressure wasn't great, but it was definitely bareable!
Mai did all she could to make our stay as comfortable as possible, as I would recommend the apartment to anyone wanting to experience 'living' in the city, and not in a cramped hotel!
Mai's place was centrally located to many locations. The place was clean and spacious. She was super responsive to our text messages and very helpful in making sure we had what we needed. Looking forward to our next visit.
It was great staying at Mai's apartment. Ideal location, clean and big.
We loved this place. We went to NYC for the marathon and the flat was the perfect location for all places in manhattan! Very cool open spaces and amazing views.
Mai and Mike's apartment is in a very good spot in Silverlake, it's quite walkable to many great locations.
We had a couple surprises though, moulding content in the fridge, maggots in the kitchen and a razor blade under the bathroom sink (in a marked as kid friendly apartment). We were happy our toddler didn't find it.
This might have happened because of several tenants before us but in this case it could need a more thorough cleaning and look after in between next time.
This is a very cool place! We really enjoyed our stay and the location.
The apartment is great. Fantastic view and location. Everything worked out very smooth. Mai and Mike is very nice and helpful. We took their recommendation about restaurant, excellent. We stayed 4 friends in the apartment. Mai provided sheets and towels, 4 friends works but I think that is one to many for the place. I would stay there again if I ever comes to New York again.
A great loft apartment with a lot of character!
Mai and Mike are lovely people, very friendly and hospitable. They came past a few times to grab items but nothing really intrusive. The apartment was simple but all basic amenities were met.
Nice loft, ideally located in Manhattan. True that it is a bit "low tech", as reported by a former traveller, let say that it is kind of vintage, with the charm of it.
A bit noisy (but it is in the heart of Manhattan, so...)
Always light, even bright in a sunny day, enough space for a family of 5 (parents in the bedroom, all the kids in the main room)
A detail: a dishcloth could be convenient (better than the old bath towels available under the kitchen sink).
And Mai is a very nice person, flexible, that does the max to arrange you, and let enough place in the closet to hang our garments.
All in, a good experience for us during this trip in NYC.
Mai is a very friendly and helpful host, and her apartment is beautiful. She'll make every effort to ensure you're comfortable and have everything you need - as well as some good tips about local coffee shops, food stores, yoga classes, whatever you need.
A great and inspiring apartment! Mai is very easy to deal with and her space offers tranquility in one of the most buzzing and exciting cities in the world! A great experience!!!
