We are an organic farm currently in ownership transition, in the middle of the coastal Oregon woods. Life here involves caring for our orchard, veggie and flower gardens, and tending to the furry and feathery animals on our small, sustainable Myrtle Glen Farm.. tended organically for 30 years. David is an accomplished construction craftsman, nature photographer/videographer, musician, and brew-master/vintner. He has recently sold the farm to Dan and Micha, also photographers, and gardeners, and they are taking the baton to continue all that this place is and more. We are working together for the next year to aid in this shift. Formerly owned an operated by David and Leena, it's the same place just new folks added. We've so enjoyed meeting and hosting folks through airbnb and we all use this great service as well when we travel! We love good conversation and story, home-made music, and summer garden barbeques. At least one of us are always available to our guests, and are very understanding and accommodating of those that wish to be left alone.
The home sits on a clean, wild river in the midst of serene mountain landscapes, with Old growth forest hikes not far away. We're less than an hour from some of the most beautiful beaches on the Oregon coast and wine country just over the mountains east. With private decks, a hot-tub and yoga studio, you can truly relax and pamper yourself here.
We live in awareness and appreciation of our surroundings, and grow, nurture and enjoy amazing food and relationships with the creatures we abide among. We host work traders seasonally through the WWOOF organization in order to share this lush place, have help with the large veggie garden and teach the skills and practices that have been nearly forgotten and not taught to recent generations.
