The room was as advertised. However, a few amenities were lacking that make this room difficult for short-term visitors. There was no towel provided, for example (I was offered a hand towel to dry off after showers), and I was given only a thin sheet even though it was the middle of January and overnight temps were often in the teens. Without my own blanket I would have been freezing.
Additionally, the apartment lacked WiFi while I was there, despite the fact that the listing said there was WiFi. I talked to Louise about it and she was courteous but not sympathetic.
Louise was nice and welcoming, but also sometimes ignored me when I said hello. The apartment was nice, though, and it was fine for my stay and good for the price. The issues I listed above, however, will probably be dealbreakers for many, and so overall, I would not go out of my way to recommend this place.
Louise was nice as were the other tenants in the apartment. Very convenient location and a very economical choice for Manhattan.
The place was great and it was an amazing price. Louise and the other roommates were great too. The dog is cool too once it decides you're friendly, which is after one day. The area is also great, offering some of the most eclectic stores and restaurants of any area in New York City.
This was an amazing space in one of my favorite neighborhoods of New York. Louise and her roommates were all super friendly and easy to talk to. Her dog, Celeste, was a huge sweetie - she never bit me but I only recommend this space for someone who is really confident with dogs. Otherwise, this is a great space and I'll definitely come back the next time I'm visiting NY.
This house is very exciting for me,
The sofa to sleep is a bit small , but comfortable enough.
Then roommates are very kind.
I was glad to go through "The NY style".
Cool location, friendly hosts. Really must love dogs.
I enjoyed staying with Louise, she and her roomates were extremely nice and accommodating. The apartment is in a nice part of town and close to the subway. Louise's dog can be tough to get along with sometimes, but if you are a dog person (or good at dealing with dogs) then you will be fine. Overall, I recommend staying here.
Put simply, Louise's apartment is a great place to stay in NYC. I was only there three nights, but I felt at home incredibly quickly. It's located in a great location, near the East Broadway subway, but in walking distance of many sights/places to visit - Financial District, Chinatown, LES, Brooklyn Bridge etc. Louise, Wilson and the rest of the guys are incredibly welcoming and friendly and I really enjoyed hanging around and going out with them. The dog, Celeste, could be a handful for people not used to dogs, but if you're confident and follow Louise's advice, she soon turns into a soft little thing.
So if you want to visit NYC on a budget and you don't mind sleeping on a couch, you really can't go wrong with this place.
Louise was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. She is thoughtful, interesting, and easy to talk to. The location is very safe, right next to Chinatown, easy subway access, and easy to even find street parking. Although the couch was smaller than I thought, I slept comfortably on that couch for a week. I had no problem with Celeste (dog), but it took her few days to get used to my scent and presence. I would recommend her place to fellow Airbnbers who looking for a cheap and affordable accommodation in Manhattan.
I skipped my stay to one night and Louise was very cooperative.
