I'm a nice person :)
Cool location, friendly hosts. Really must love dogs.
I enjoyed staying with Louise, she and her roomates were extremely nice and accommodating. The apartment is in a nice part of town and close to the subway. Louise's dog can be tough to get along with sometimes, but if you are a dog person (or good at dealing with dogs) then you will be fine. Overall, I recommend staying here.
Put simply, Louise's apartment is a great place to stay in NYC. I was only there three nights, but I felt at home incredibly quickly. It's located in a great location, near the East Broadway subway, but in walking distance of many sights/places to visit - Financial District, Chinatown, LES, Brooklyn Bridge etc. Louise, Wilson and the rest of the guys are incredibly welcoming and friendly and I really enjoyed hanging around and going out with them. The dog, Celeste, could be a handful for people not used to dogs, but if you're confident and follow Louise's advice, she soon turns into a soft little thing.
So if you want to visit NYC on a budget and you don't mind sleeping on a couch, you really can't go wrong with this place.
Louise was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. She is thoughtful, interesting, and easy to talk to. The location is very safe, right next to Chinatown, easy subway access, and easy to even find street parking. Although the couch was smaller than I thought, I slept comfortably on that couch for a week. I had no problem with Celeste (dog), but it took her few days to get used to my scent and presence. I would recommend her place to fellow Airbnbers who looking for a cheap and affordable accommodation in Manhattan.
I skipped my stay to one night and Louise was very cooperative.
Louise is the best, the apartment is in a great location and fairly priced compared to the other postings.
You get your own room and set of keys. The apartment is clean and the roommates are very respectful.
Celeste (the dog) is just the cutest thing in the whole world. I miss her already!
Louise was an extremely nice host to me! Guys dont be afraid of Celeste! she only needs time to get to know you and then she will be more than happy to see you and play with you!
will stay with her again soon:))))
While this apartment is on the less expensive side, one may be able to disregard the dirty sheets as expectations at $45/night in new york can not be too high. My concern however, is to provide my honest opinion. There is a dog present in the apartment, and the dog is aggressive. I was captive in my room without being able to leave to use the rest room. I was handed a treat jar by the owner and told to give the dog treated to make her accustomed to me. After holding my restroom needs to the following morning i attempted to leave the room. This time the owner was not present. The dog became more aggressive for some reason having a problem with my suit case which contained work material i needed to transport to my boss's office. The dog proceeded to attack my hand and i was forced to throw treats with one hand while gently kicking my bag towards the door. I attempted communication with the owner of the residence, she replied later in the afternoon and blamed the cause of me NOT receiving a refund to be due to the fact that "i knew there was a dog of a particular breed" Thus, this review is to let future residents be aware, if you are not intimidated by this by all means go ahead, and request clean sheets (nose b****** on the sheets and pillow) but i believe everyone should be aware of what they are getting them selves into, as this can become a dangerous situation real quickly.
The reservation was canceled 6 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The Apartment was ideally situated in the heart of the Lower East side in close proximity to some of Manhattans best small bars and restaurants. I recommend Louise's apartment to those seeking an authentic New York experience as it is slightly off the beaten path and away from the hustle and bustle of Mid Town. However still offers great transport around the city.
Louise was a fabulous host, I stayed with her for a month and during that time she never failed to make me feel at home, she even went out of her way to show me some of her favourite parts of the city and introduce me to some of her amazing friends.
During my stay the dog Celeste was no problem at all, she was a little nervous around me atfirst but soon enough she was playful and outgoing. I suggest spending at least a little time getting to know the dog before making harsh judgments. As Louise has pointed out in her description of the apartment, I would not recommend staying here to people who dislike animals or do not feel comfortable around bigger dogs.
Overall, I greatly enjoyed my stay. Location and price cannot be beaten. Thanks for having me Louise!
