Good location, close to downtown and the Peel metro station. Clean. 24 hour convenience store located across the street. Very wonderful host - Jen was incredibly accessible, quick and responsive which was much appreciated. Thank you! :)
The apartment is reasonably accurate to descriptions - it's very close to McGill and the Centre-Ville attractions (Beaux-Arts is just a 4 minute walk away). Jen was very helpful and accommodating, she was able to respond to an issue with the wireless internet at the apartment and get me back up and running (need it to make VoIP calls and do some trip planning) - she also got us tokens for the laundry rather quickly. The area is friendly towards college kids (convenience store and sandwich shop across the street) but not so much if you want a more urban Montreal experience (0.5 km to the closest super-marche, everything downtown shuts down early on weekdays and closed on Sundays). The walk up a short hill from downtown might not be fun for people with cardio issues, but the walk from the Plateau is fine. Overall a good experience though.
Jen was a super gracious and responsive host. Through the entire process, I don't think I waited more than 40 minutes for her to get back to me.
The apartment is exactly as described and the photos give an accurate sense of the space. The deck was lovely and private on hot August afternoons.
The location is not the hippest in town: it's a mix of business-ey/high end downtown and college kids. But it is on a quiet block, though it is a pretty steep climb up (the apartment has an elevator, but the block itself is on a hill).
Two Métro lines are a short walk away, the 747 Airport Bus stops relatively close by, many other buses are close, and the Sofitel down the block ensures plenty of cabs.
Great place - easy access to public transportation and Mount Royal Park. Very clean, and Jen made arrival a breeze. Would stay there again!
We came to Montreal in August 2014 as both tourists and to compete in an international swim meet.
First, the description of the place was very accurate and Jen was a very good hostess. She quickly responded to our questions and was very helpful.
For our needs, this was a nice place. As natural early birds and needing to get good rest for competition, we were well rested at Jen's place. It's a quiet neighborhood with a comfortable bed. We also enjoy cooking, the apartment had a nice array of cooking equipment and selection of herbs & spices. So if you want to save a little money by cooking your own meals or just want to experience Montreal life more like a local by shopping at local grocery stores or open air markets (there are some nice ones in Montreal), this is a good place for that.
We also loved the big windows and great view from the deck. The one draw back (for us) was that it was a up a steep hill. Obviously the hill gave us the great view, but when trying to save your legs for a swim competition, it can be a little tiring.
The place is in the heart of the city, so lots to see and do close by. A great combination to be in a quiet neighborhood but close to so many places to check out. It's also close to a Metro subway station and close to bus lines (we used them both extensively, Montreal has a nice public transportation system).
Overall it was a great experience, Thanks Jen!
Jen was great and very responsive to all our needs. The apartment was perfect and in a great location. Would definitely stay there again next time I'm in Montreal!
Merci Jen !
Jen was a great host and always got back to me almost within the hour, everything was as described. Check in and out was flexible and easy. The apartment is in an ideal location for seeing downtown Montreal. The curtains were small in the bedroom but we were prepared for that after having read other reviews. Overall a great experience and we would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks for hosting us Jen!
I stayed at Jen's apartment for the weekend with my best friend. We both really enjoyed staying at Jen's apartment. The location was perfect and ideal for a weekend of sightseeing. Her apartment is close to a number of places to eat and cute coffee shops. We were able to get to the train easily. Her apartment is just as described in the advertisement. The terrace is a great place for hanging out, especially at night. The apartment is bright and sunny.
Jen was really great hostess. She was very responsive to questions that we had about parking. She also left behind a number of suggestions for places to eat and see. (If you want to eat at Kaza Maza, we recommend making reservations. We tried to go there but they were completely booked!)
We stayed at Jen's apartment overnight. She is extremely helpful and kind and very easy to communicate with. Everything was provided exactly as mentioned in the listing. For me personally the cherry on the cake was when the sun rose over the buildings and gently woke me up and of course the amazing patio. I definitely recommend her penthouse apartment!
Jen was easy to communicate with, and came and went as if she'd barely been there. Thanks for being a great, tidy guest!
Jen was a great guest. Check in and out was smooth and she was very clean and courteous. I would gladly host her again.
Jen and her boyfriend were great guests. The communication was easy, they were nice, polite and very friendly. And they left the apartment spotless. I would definitely recommend them as guests.
