Nina's place is in a great location in the heart of the trendy and very local Jordaan district of Amsterdam. It was very convenient to walk to various places - restaurants, Central station, shopping, groceries, etc. The light rail passes a block away from her place also which made my 7 day stay easy. The place is great for 1 to 2 people.
Really enjoyed our time in Amsterdam and at Nina's apartment. We've stayed before closer to the red light district, but this area is so much nicer and enjoyable. Great restaurants, shopping, and bars within close proximity. Just over the canal from the 'nine streets' area. Could have spent the whole weekend in the area alone!
Key exchange was easy, Nina was flexible on departure which was great, would definitely recommend.
pros: Really nice place to stay. Quick communication with Nina and her sister. Bright.
cons: Dirty (lots of dust and not only on the floor :-/), kitchen and bathroom sinks clogged up, lights than don't work, lack of space for luggage or clothes.
Important, don't let the comments mislead you: guests are no longer allowed to access the rooftop.
It was worth staying though.
We had great communication leading up to and during our stay in Nina's apartment. She recommended some great restaurants for me to celebrate my birthday! The apartment is in an amazing location! Really cute place, small but functional and great use of space. Unfortunately a little disappointed with cleanliness (dusty, mouldy kettle) and a few things were not as pictured (nowhere to hang clothes, lots of exposed wires), a number of lights didn't work, and the key to the door jammed, leaving us stuck outside a few times. Overall though, enjoyed our stay.
I guess this is kind of a live and learn. Why is there a filter on all the pictures? You know why people use filters..
This wasn't our best Airbnb experience to date. It started with the check in. Nina had told us her sister would meet us at the apartment. While we were flying, her sister send me a message telling me to call her when we were there. Well, I had my phone off, since my international plan sucks. So, we were standing out in front of the place in Amsterdam at night ringing the bell with no luck. Luckily, the Steakhouse below invited us in and gave her a call for us (We ate there the next night and found it outstanding!).
Be aware, the stairway is SUPER narrow. This might be common in Amsterdam, but this information would have been helpful. If we would have had bigger suitcases, we would have been raising them up through the window. It's almost closer to a ladder than stairs!
Coming in is when we passed the construction below us, that would have been nice to know. When we got to the apartment, we were told not to use the shower that night, because there was just some work done. No big deal, who wants to shower after flying?!?!?
The apartment wasn't bad, but it wasn't what we expected from the pictures. It has been changed a bit too, even if the pictures were unfiltered, it still wouldn't be 100% accurate.
On a positive note, the location is great. We were easily able to get around the city and see everything.
So, it was a lot of little things, but all together, we were not totally thrilled with the experience. It could have been worse, but expectations were definitely not met.
Nina's place is bright, comfortably spacious and you can find anything you need. Nina was so helpful and nice, she has prepared a guide for home and your vacation by herself and you can find it anything you ask. Location was perfect, tram station is next to the house but you can get a trip by walk everywhere in Amsterdam. We didn't use tram or anything else after first day. we sincerly reccomend Nina's place. Thanks for everything Nina, hope to see you again.
Nina's apartment is as wonderful as you can see on the pictures! As soon as you arrive, you'll feel comfortable and home!
It's located in Amsterdam's city center, near well know places.
Also, Nina is an incredible host! She does everything to make you feel good. Candles, a bottle of wine and some candies were waiting for us as we arrived! Further she kindly informed me about parkings and public transport in and around Amsterdam.
Everything was perfect and we had a very nice stay at her place!
If you are looking for the perfect location, this is pretty central. Highly recommend. Unit was clean and as it looks in photos. I would stay there again.
Centrally located at the crossroads of several thoroughfares, Nina’s apartment gives perfect access to any number of great spots in Amsterdam. Should you need a tram/bus, a stop is just down the street as well, which will make access to Amsterdam Centraal that much easier should you wish to take a day trip. Nina was communicative and the key exchange was seamless. And the apartment was bright and welcoming. It would be difficult to find a better place in which to enjoy Amsterdam. Thanks!
The location is the best you can find in amsterdam, everything is just a walking distance, the apartment was amazing, clean, bright and everything you need is there. Nina was a great host, very helpful, easy going, always checking if everything is going well. I had a great time at Nina's apartment. Highly recommended. Thanks Nina
Nina and her friend were charming and nice guests.
Pleasure to welcome back!!!
Nina was a great guest! She was easy to reach , and left my place in top condition. I would definitely recommend her as a guest, and would gladly host her again.
