My husband Bob and I divide our time between our homes in San Francisco, CA and Akumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico. We drive down each summer with our beachmutts, who were rescued from Akumal. we also have to rescued junglecats that hold down the fort in San Francisco while we are away. We became interested in Akumal and the surrounding area out of our love of Mayan ruins, history and culture. We enjoy traveling to various sites and discovering new facts each time. We love Akumal because of its natural beauty and the commitment that the community has made in preserving and protecting the environment, native wildlife, and ecology. Bob enjoys snorkeling in Half Moon Bay and visiting with the colorful fish and occupants among the reef and the beautiful coral. I volunteer with the CEA and participate in the Turtle Watch program - each year, hundreds of turtles return to Akumal and neighboring beaches to lay their nests, and thousands of hatchlings go forth into the ocean to start their own big adventure. I am also very active and involved in animal rescue and welfare in the area and volunteer at spay/neuter clinics with VIDAS and through the local municipality. I recently became involved with Playa Animal Rescue and am looking forward to spending time and helping out at the new shelter in Playa del Carmen. My favorite things in life are: my husband, my dogs and cats, life on the beach, Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, spending time with good friends and helping others. My motto is: All we really have or need in life is each other. I feel our purpose in life is to take care of each other, the Earth and all of her inhabitants. Be kind to each other, treat others with respect and play nice. Everything you need to know about life you really DID learn in kindergarten. Live - love - laugh - and be grateful, Count all of your blessings and remember your dreams.
