Lovely house in a beautiful neighborhood. It had everything we needed, including a great swing in the yard for our eight year old. We really enjoyed our stay in Rockport. Be sure to check out all the footpaths to beautiful waterfront areas just down the road from the house. Thanks.
We stayed for three nights at this great place. Spacious living room, grey kitchen en good sleeping rooms. Wonderful garden. We loved Rockport and surrounding. Definitely recommend this place to stay- preferably longer!
We really enjoyed our stay here. Lina was a very accommodating host, and was even willing to meet us rather late in the evening to let us in when our arrival time was significantly delayed. The house was great: well appointed with everything you need, including lots of space to relax both inside and out. The neighborhood is quite nice as well, just a short walk from some beautiful rocky beaches and a short easy drive to beaches, restaurants, Bearskin Neck, etc. I would definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for more quiet than you'll get in Rockport proper.
Lina's home was amazing. It is very charming and it had the classic New England feel that we were looking for. We traveled with our two teenagers and the space was just right for the four of us.
As was mentioned in a previous review the stairs to the two upper bedrooms are narrow but it was not a problem for us. The other thing to mention is that the town of Rockport closes down pretty early. We got in fairly late (10:30) due to flight delays and finding much open at that hour was a little problematic.
Overall we were extremely pleased with our stay and would absolutely stay here again.
Lina was a wonderful host, we spontaneously travelled with 5 instead of 4 people and she provided us with an extra matress. The house was perfect for our needs: a spacious lounge and kitchen-dining area, a great master bedroom and two little rooms under the roof, a big bathroom for all of us. There is a big garden area with enough shade to spend some time when it is hot outside. The area is lovely, Halibut State Park beautiful and just around the corner, the ocean in walking distance with a footpath on top of the rocks. We definitely would like to retunrn some time.
The host is delightful…very gracious. The property was even better than described. We were fortunate to have found it. We will return again next year!!!
The unit is not quite as spacious as the pictures look (particularly the bedrooms) and not quite as "upscale". (counters in kitchen are Formica, not granite), cheap/older comforters and carpets etc. (only new item were some nice big towels.) We were welcomed by Lina when we arrived a bit early (2pm) and came back at 4, as she wasn't ready yet. After that we were "on our own" and felt like it was our own "space". The staircases do have narrow treads, and could use more handrails, but were adequate when used cautiously by us flat-landers. The unit is easy walking distance from the Emerson Inn if you have friends living there. The gardens are beautiful, but I would have felt a bit awkward about using the outdoors other than the nice porch area, "loudly" by a family as it is the owners home also. Of course we did not stay there during the day much as there is so much to do around. For the value, for someone willing to share the one full bath (family or 2 close couples) it is a good value compared to nearby inns etc. The bottom floor is a great communal area, and the top 2 floors feel like staying in grandmas house: Not fancy, a bit worn but serviceable. Bottom line: yes I would stay again.
Lina was very warm and welcoming and pretty relaxed about things. We had a big yard to ourselves and a small outside setting. Kitchen was large as was laundry with soap powder supplies.
Lina was kind and welcoming to our family. The cottage was spacious and naturally well-lit, with lush garden views on three sides; at the same time, it was old, damp, and a bit musty, and not as clean as expected. Very close to beautiful public path along the ocean.
What a delightful place in a gorgeous setting!
Lina is the type of perfect hostess who makes you feel at home, introducing us to the neighborhood with tips on dining and things to see.
The house is tasteful, quiet and spotless, and has everything you need for a getaway, so even if there is a rainy day, you will be happy just hanging around the house and the beautiful patio.
Thank you for your hospitality.
