2) very friendly people, helpful with learning area.
3) optional participation in community practices as indicated on web
4) really good vegetarian food, don't hesitate to have lunch or dinner there.
5) nice cafe only short walk north, looking into beautiful rice fields
6) meet other spiritually inclined travelers
7) good place for sitting and walking meditation on own
Lesser strenghs (all disclosed)
1) about 4km from downtown Ubud, (phone number hidden) rupiah by taxi. Some will prefer to be closer, at least for part of stay.
2) rooms a bit rustic, open air with no air conditioning. Mosquitos ate well, but tolerable.
3) My sleep not as good during stay. Beds wood with single pad. Typical for ashram/monastery.
The Anand Ashram has so much more than just meditation. I went there for some quiet time mostly and learned many new things.
The ashram is beautifully designed and landscaped making it a very tranquil place to be.
Everyone working/living there is very kind and helpful.
I had a one on one meditation session which I found very grounding and empowering.
There is also a pool with crystallized water that was energizing.
I got more out of my stay than I anticipated. I am very happy I went.
We spent only two night there and it was a wonderful experience, plenty of kindness and people are so friendly. I had my first lesson of yoga (so good). Gandhi wrote that Kindness is more important than wisdom and the recognition of it is the beginning of wisdom. So THANKS for your kindness and all the moments my family shared with you and the others guests.
I am still staying at the ashram. A beautiful place with a great chance to ne exposed to meditation. I stayed in Ubud center for 3 weeks and when I cam here, i knew what I was looking for. Recommend the place to the people who want to explore themselves rather than for the sake of travelling!!
I've stayed in 5 different places in Bali and highly recommend the ashram for spiritual travelers. During breakfast, you will meet other fellow spiritual seekers and have great conversations (and a great meal). 3 times a day there is guided meditation, and you have exposure to guru Krishna on several occasions for questions. There is a mediation center of can always access for practice as well. The grounds are well-kept, facilities are clean, and the vibe is peaceful and serene. Herny, Yudha and other staff and volunteers are all kind and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and learned a lot during my stay. I would definitely go back!
My boyfriend and I had a good experience in the Asharam.
It was definitely a great start in the year for us, starting with a new healthy routine to meditate every morning.
The ashram has a very peaceful environment, the room is simple but very cosy and clean.
This ashram is located in a peaceful and serene area of ubud. Where all you can hear are the sounds of nature. It's away from the bustle of ubud central and perfect for quiet time.
The ashram itself is so beautiful and you feel as though your in a magical fairy garden. There is a kitchen facility, healing pool and temple for prayer and meditation.
The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Ashram. People are lovely, the room was nice and close to Ubud centre. We'll come back!
I had a really wonderful two weeks at the ashram. The grounds are beautiful and it's a very peaceful space. The hut that I stayed in was close to the road, but it was very quiet and I slept well every night. In addition to the daily yoga and meditations offered, the ashram also hosts other activities throughout the week. The community is invited to some of these activities and it was really nice to participate and have the chance to meet with them afterward.
I can't go without saying how delicious the food was! I looked forward to breakfast every day and also had a few dinners there, as well.
My experience was really wonderful and I look forward to returning - thank you, Herny & Yuda!
