I like to read and spend time outdoors - swimming and hiking - and I also do yoga and Pilates. I also love to listen to, play, and write music -- blues, classical, industrial -- and cook and eat great food. I love to meet and talk to locals when I visit a new city. My travel style is laid back and respectful, I always enjoy visiting new places and I enjoy the feeling of being back home after a wonderful trip. So far, I have enjoyed Amsterdam and the Big Island of Hawai'i the most, for very different reasons: Amsterdam had such a nice park that I could walk to the museum district and I had great conversations with locals in the brown bars; on Hawai'i, I visited one of my best friends, camped with her family in a very remote bay, and enjoyed an incredible tour given by her Auntie -- usually given to visiting nuns, but we were so lucky that day to have her regale us with the history and legends of Hilo, Pele, volcanos, and ancient Hawaiians.
I believe in laughing joyfully and living gratefully, even though life rarely follows plans you make.
