I am an hotel restaurant owner. My husband is farmacist. We live in the usa.
Hereby I write this message to comment the service received by Ivonne; rewards her AIRBNB Villa in Playa Mitjorn, km 8.5, Formentera; Spain.
The house is in a perfect location, although it has known better days... The entrance to the house appears to be a dustbin, having dirty blanquets and cushions and several empty food dishes meant for the stray (email hidden)ere is no way you can have such an inproper reception.
The apartment is big but it was in a very dirty condition.
I recognize that they are not easy to manteine clean from sand or dust sometimes. But we are also housewives and mothers and we know the meaning of NOT HAVING BEEN CLEANED FOR AGES.
Everywhere there was sand, dust, dead bugs, even dirty tissues. The several sofas in the sitting-room were covered with sand, the
chairs the same... No sweeping of vacuum-cleaning at all after having been used by other renters. The double bed in the main room, had the very unpleasant surprise of having "used linen": providing us with hairs and sand to enjoy the nightly rest. :-( The cooking areas were sticky, the dish sink was brown, the cupboards needed to be emptied and disinfected. Everything was creepy and sticky. Every glass of dish... We could not put ourselves together to cook there at all. And Formentera is an expensive island to be dinning each meal. And we did it.
There is a second room with a sofa, sold as another double bed, unconfortable as it may be. The room was also unclean.
The bathroom was a nightmare, of course... Shower full of sand an hairs; very disgusting bath-carpet and urinare smell coming out from toilet.We showered with flip-flops.
We tried to contact the personal there but could not find her, to request for another cleaning. Any way, we only had three days and there were not more lodging options available, so we tried to make the best out of the island. We decided to explaine the situation to the owner in order to protect her from this very bad manteinence of the house, assummming that as she lives abroad she might not know how things where in her place.
As soon as were were back from Formentera, we wrote Ivonne back and warned her about everything, and of course expressed our dissatisfaction in a private e-mail. We did not want to cause any perjudice to her by posting this in Airbnb. Having paid an expensive price for our stay and being so very discontented with all.
The answer of Ivonne has been rude an unexpected.
As a result we want to post this message as a warning to future renters. See below...
'"if you were not happy with the house,you should not have entered ....I LEFT MY HOUSE THE 20TH OF APRIL (we came in JUNE!!!) AND LEFT IT SPOTLESS CLEAN WITH THE HELP OF TWO CLEANINGWOMEN..WRITE WHATEVER YOU THINK... YVONNE"
A simply wonderful house....
Yvonne was a friendly guest, communication between us has been easy and pleasant.
