Melora Koepke - travel writer, mother, pal.
Had a very nice, short stay at Melora's apartment. The location was in a very nice and quiet neighborhood, but still close enough to walk to most of what we wanted to do. The apartment was clean, cute and spacious for 6 people. There was some confusion with the house number at first, but Melora was very attentive and able to point us in the right direction when we contacted her upon arrival. We also had some issues with the wi-fi at first, but these were also resolved on our first night there by Melora.
Overall We had a great stay and I would highly recommend this accommodation.
This was my first Airbnb experience and overall, I am impressed!
First of all, the neighborhood is totally lovely and very walkable. It's about a 15-minute walk to the closest metro stop and we wished a few times over the weekend that we were a bit closer, but it let us really explore the neighborhood. There are lovely little cafes on St. Viateur, including the St. Viateur bagel shop. There was a map in the apartment, which was extremely helpful.
The apartment itself was very comfortable. The bedroom with the king is enormous and could easily sleep a few more with an inflatable mattress. One of the queens is a futon, but was reported as relatively comfortable. The dining table seats six comfortably and the kitchen is quite large and, had we done any cooking, it would have been a good one to socialize in. It was very easy to park on the street for the weekend--though I wish I would have clarified what the rules were. There were some signs at random intervals that I think only applied to specific spots but wasn't sure. We avoided a ticket, our friends did not. There were several handy conveniences--a keychain for the key, several umbrellas, things like that. There were five towels available and a spacious shower.
The only disappointment was the Wifi. The password and network provided didn't match the unit in the apartment and a call to fix it went unanswered (though I was calling from an American phone that eventually died, so that might not be the case). Since out-of-network data is so expensive over the border, this proved to be a bit of an inconvenience.
Other than that, wonderful stay! Melora also provided restaurant and bar recommendations.
Six of us stayed at Melora's place for two nights, including New Years Eve. The place was tidy and good to go when we arrived and we all slept comfortably in the two beds and one large futon. It's a sweet and cozy apartment with the all the basics that made it a perfect home base for our short trip to Montreal.
When we were arriving and when we had questions about the WIFI, Melora was in touch promptly with information, so everything went smoothly. She was a helpful, laid-back, and accessible host.
I wish we'd had more time to explore the neighborhood, but with NYE celebrations we found ourselves jetting to and from downtown for most of our visit. I'd be interested in returning to enjoy the place in the summer (the stairs to the front door felt a little treacherous in the snow) but I'd recommend it to visiting groups any time of year!
tres bien, très propre
à conseiller +++
We had a very comfortable stay at Melora's large apartment on Waverly this August. All of us, old and young enjoyed it, It was like a home from home. Firstly, I appreciated that it was reasonably clean and we all loved the balcony at the back. Having all the mod-cons like inclusive wifi, instant hot water, washing machine, dryer and dishwasher made our stay less stressful. Finally it was the little touches that made our stay go so smoothly, a starting supply of toilet paper, soap, washing machine & dishwasher detergent, a little cooking oil, salt & pepper, a supply of towels, mosquito nets, and finally being short, the small steps! The plumbing could have been better, especially when there were 6 of us using the one toilet. However all the positives way outweighed this. L. Bou-Gharios.
Perfect for a family trip staying 2 nights. Very good location.
Melora was great. She hosted 3 friends of mine visiting from out of town. Very available and friendly. Would be happy to have have friends stay again.
Comfortable and clean apartment. Very quiet street. We were 5 people and space and bedrooms were largely enough. The only bathroom needs a little refresh. Subway is easily reachable (15 mins). You can find a very good Bagel bakery at 2 Streets on the Saint Viateur Street. Lot of restaurants and cafés nearby which helps when you don't want to get out another time after an exhausting day of visit. If you come by car be very careful about the parking rules in the street, our first souvenir was a 52$ fine. Melora could not be there but we met PJ who gave us some advices.
In any case it was a good experience and we can recommend that house.
great location, spacious lovely apartment, stayed cool in spite of heat and lack of AC. very kid-friendly. very friendly hosts.
Great, respectful guest. Wishing she would come back to enjoy more time in Ubud!
