Ashley and her husband Ron live aboard a boat and both work in the marine industry. They love boating and SCUBA diving and their best vacation is somewhere warm with deep blue water all around.

Our experience was great! It sadly rained a bunch one of the days but all in all it was a very fun experience. We got to explore portland and lounge around on the boat. The boat was pretty spacious. Our host was great, she had some breakfast goodies set up for us which is super nice. The location had a Safeway / target close by so if you ever need anything it's there. The marina restroom is clean.
First off, I wanted to say that Ashley was a great host! She was very prompt in responding to our reservation request and even went above and beyond in giving us a warm welcome despite our ever-changing travel itinerary (airline flight cancellations, etc).
Even though it was very late when she met us, she still gave a brief tour of the boat, showed us around the kitchen, and even provided some 'welcome beers', bottled water, and breakfast muffins/cookies among other things. She also let us know she was a text away should we want to tour the 'crew only' areas of the boat.
The stay on the boat was very comfortable! The bedding was great, shower and bathroom facilities were clean and had plenty of hot water and high water pressure. The living quarters of the boat was very comfortable, it had a large LCD TV equipped with Netflix. The weather in Portland was cold over the weekend we were staying and the heating on the boat was more than sufficient.
The location of boat is exactly as described, just a 20 min drive from the airport and less than 20 min from downtown. We spent most of the weekend downtown and had no problems going back and forth between the marina and the city. The boat is also docked in a "corner" spot of the marina so there's plenty of privacy if desired.
I have never stayed on a boat before but I would highly recommend booking the Zephyr if you're visit Portland. The comforts of the boat combined with a gracious and awesome host will make for an unforgettable experience. Also, don't forget to sign the guest book!
We loved staying on the Skookum! Ashley's communication was great and the Yacht was just as pictured. They stay was so peaceful with everything we could possibly need. Ashley gave us a warm welcome when we got there and made us feel right at home while showing us around. We were so excited to stay on the water for the weekend and are eager to come back for another stay. This taste of yacht life made us want to get a boat of our own :)
This was exactly the experience we wanted! Sunny weekend on the water was so relaxing.
Ashley was very accomidating helping us with directions & giving us a tour of the Skookum Canoe. It was very comforting knowing that if we had any questions or concerns, they would be available to help us out.
The Skookum Canoe inspired us to look into similar yachts for sale. Although, we would be just as happy staying aboard this one again!
Thanks again Ashley & Ron!
Ashley was an OUTSTANDING host - prompt in her reply to my reservation request, great directions, she met me at the marina gate and gave a thorough introduction to the "Zephyr"; she even provided great weather. The "Zephyr" was just as described and pictured. It is very well appointed and comfortable inside - including beds, and the full galley is amazing. What a great and unique place to stay! I look forward to bringing my wife with me to stay on the "Zephyr" in the summer, on a house-hunting trip. Thank you, Ashley.
Ashley was great and very helpful. She accommodate our arrive time and gave us really helpful tips on navigating Portland. The boat had everything you need and amenities you don't even think of. Great weekend!
I've never stayed on a boat before so I figured, why not? The Zephyr is GREAT! Ashley was a wonderful hostess. She was very welcoming and even gave me a tour of the "Crew Only" sections of the boat. Any time she or her husband planned on being around the boat she always sent me a text. I didn't need much but if I had I wouldn't have had any trouble contacting Ashley. The boat was in a secluded area of the marina so there was plenty of privacy. As advertised, it definitely helps to be mobile. My only regret is not leaving a note in the guestbook!!!
Ashley and Ron were awesome hosts and have a beautiful boat. The Zephyr is truly a unique experience and a ton of fun.
The ship is very comfortable (we had 8 men on it!) and the bunks are perfect. Pull the shades and you are in your own little world. Do not stress the close quarters.
The good on-board bathroom facilities are supplemented by a shared use Marina bathroom which is really nice and the ship's kitchen is perfect for small meals with a big fridge for a lot of goodies. (Beer in our case!).
I would love to stay again on the Zephyr. It is a great way to see Portland and Vancouver, Washington while staying in a truly unique listing.
Thanks Ashley and Ron!
We loved our stay on the Skookum Canoe. The yacht was very neat, clean, warm, comfortable and well maintained. We had everything we needed on the yacht and the facilities at the marina (cafe, extra showers and laundry) also came in handy. Ashley was very friendly and helpful. She was easy to contact- even waiting in the rain to greet us when we were running a little late. The complimentary breakfast goodies were much appreciated. I would recommend a stay - particularly if you would like something s little different.
Ashley met us up in the parking lot and escorted us to the yacht. She then went thru The views from the ship were beautiful, especially the sunrises.
This was a quiet, relaxing place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We would definitely stay onboard again! Thank you, Ashley!
We're sorry we missed meeting Ashley and Ron; they arrived and left by boat and sounded like they were having a great adventure exploring the Columbia. They were great guests in leaving the apartment in easy shape to get it ready for the next couple who will be staying with us. And they have an intriguing-sounding Airbnb available on a yacht in Portland that we plan to stay in one of these days.
