Gerta's house is exactly the same as in the photos, very beautiful and clean. It also has a great location, easy to get to most part of Boston by train and easy to find. The beach is literally two-minute walk away but when we got there it was blocked by ice( we blame only the weather on this:( Gerta is a very helpful host, from giving us directions to suggesting us walking through the Freedom Trail for our one-day tour in Boston, which we did and turned out to be one of our best memories about this city. We would defiantly revisit this house if we had chance!
My wife and I stayed here and had a great time! The space is very nice and Gerta is great. She gave us helpful information about shops, restaurants, etc. We had everything we needed!
Logement agréable et très bien situé par rapport à l'aéroport de Boston. Quelques commerces de bouche à proximité.
Gerta est très sympathique.
Greta was friendly and efficient as she helped us with our late and last-minute check in. Our room was clean and cosy and quiet. Excellent proximity to the airport.
The reservation was canceled 38 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
My girlfriend and I had a great experience at Gerta's. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. We do recommend it for anyone visiting boston
Our experience in Gerta's house was great! We stayed there for a month and visited so many places. Gerta and his husband are really nice and kind. You can ask them any question you have and they will deffinitely help you.
If you like dogs you may have a chance to meet Gerta's dog and take a walk with him. He is the most adorable dog in the world.
Winthrop is an excellent neighborhood, it is very quiet and safe. Crossing the street, you will find a pizzeria, a small shop, an excellent Italian restaurant and a beauty salon. If you wanna go to Boston you can take the bus in front of the house to the train station and then take the blue line. The train is pretty easy to ride, you won't get lost if you check the map.
The cleaning service is excellent. The house, the bathroom and the room were always clean. The kitchen have everything you need to cook your own food.
Boston is an amazing city. We recommend to buy the "City Pass" so you can visit many of the attractions in a lower cost. In Boston it's not necessary to take the train, we recommend you to walk because you will have an incredible experience.
We felt in love with Boston and we will definitely come back someday!
•Gerta was super friendly and made me feel quite welcome. Don’t be afraid of their German shepherd dog who is actually quite sweet.
•My room was comfortable and roomy.
•They had one power strip in the room, but it didn’t work. Since I used my computer and other electronic devices that required charging, it was a good thing I brought my own power strip.
•The kitchen was nice and it was easy to prepare my food easily. The refrigerator was quite full, however, and it was pretty challenging to fit my food in it.
•They ran out of paper towels on the second day I was there. Good thing I brought my own because when I checked out on the fourth day, I didn’t see a new roll of paper towels yet.
•Same with the wastebasket under the sink. I would have liked to empty the wastebasket and put in a fresh trash bag, but I couldn’t find any. The wastebasket was pretty much full the whole time I was there.
•There was a bedside table with a lamp on it, but there was no place to plug in the lamp. I went to the store and bought an extension cord.
•The shower was quite unusual and the water flow was pretty minimal, but it’s an old house. The bathroom, overall, was roomy and nice. And there were clean towels and wash cloths.
•If you are heavy and out of shape, prepare yourself for a lot of climbing (up four flights of stairs). But I took it on as a challenge and I think I might have lost some weight too.
•There was no off-street parking available. It was a designated “snow emergency” the four days I was there so I had to park in a public parking lot and walk down a road and then up a hill to get to the house. Because of the unusual frequency of snowstorms, I found myself doing a lot of walking down narrow streets without plowed sidewalks. Again, I treated it like an opportunity for exercise.
•My neighbors (in rooms near mine) were nice but weren’t comfortable speaking English, so I didn’t really have the benefit of talking or socializing with any of the other airbnb people in the house.
•I didn’t see any public space for watching TV. But I was very pleased with the internet wifi signal. It was strong and I enjoyed watching movies on my Kindle Fire tablet in bed.
My very first Airbnb -
I didn't know what to expect: arrival time, keys, linings, parking and all that jazz -
After a very, very long drive from the NYC area, we finally arrived at the doorsteps of this beautiful house up on a hill.
It was cozy, spacious and welcoming -
