We had a great time staying at Scott's and Michelle's place. The location was great, very close to Harris Teeter, a great tobacco store and only a few minutes to Wilmington Downtown. The beach is around 10 minutes by car, we recommend you have a car if you stay there.
Scott and Michelle were both great hosts and we had a lot of fun together when we played games, talked and taught them some german.
The apartment is quite small, but as we had our own bathroom, there is enough privacy. Bathroom and bedroom were next to each other and it was no problem to put some food in the fridge.
They were totally flexible with our arrival and departing time, which was good for us, as we arrived quite late and tried to leave early. But that didn't work out because of all the talking ;)
We will definitively recommend to stay with Scott and Michelle and we hope, that we can see them again, maybe as we host them in Germany!
Scott and Michelle were really fun to hang out with, and that alone was worth the money! We had everything we needed and only a 15 minute drive to the beach. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for simple accommodations in Wilmington. :)
I had a wonderful time staying with Scott and Michele. They are very nice and helpful with getting around town. I went to hit the beach for the most part and so I wasn't around a lot, but I slept great on their very comfortable futon. I felt very comfortable in the apartment and they were really cool with me using their space. They offered coffee and food for breakfast which was great. The community they live in is very nice and safe, the pool is also an awesome added bonus. Also from their apartment you can get anywhere quickly due to its central location. Wrightsville beach is a very easy 10 minute to 15 minute drive and downtown Wilmington is only 6 minutes away, and there is lots in between. I would definitely love to stay with them again. They helped make my vacation not only possible, but also very enjoyable! Thanks again guys!
Scott and Michelle were wonderful hosts! Their apartment was in a perfect location to get to the National Mall (about 6 blocks) in a wonderful (and safe) neighborhood. My boyfriend and I were in town for the inauguration, and we arrived late in the night and were up bright and early. Scott and Michelle had no problems with our coming and going times. They even invited us out to hang out with them and their friends! It made for a fun night. The room was as described, though even without a door, it was private enough and perfect for us. S&M close their door when they sleep so it never was a problem. If you want to stay close to the capital and hang out with two awesome people, stay with Scott and Michelle!
Thank you so much for that awesome time we had with you in Washington! Michele and Scott are the perfect hosts and we felt absolutely welcome and home. We spent some great time with them and had very interesting conversations. The house is really nice and it is perfectly located to visit the sights. We would definitely stay with them again if we come back to Washington!
Scott and his girlfriend were fantastic! They were exceptionally gracious hosts and made me feel very at ease. Their house is adorable and was an excellent place for me to rest my head before my interview the next day. (I can get cranky without a good night's sleep and that was one good futon.) I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay somewhere that is close to the sites. It is also located in a very cute and safe neighborhood and minutes from 8th street (where there are some REALLY good eats).
We stayed with Scott and his girlfriend for one night, and felt very much at home with them.
The place is small, but it works, and Scott was very accommodating to me and my friend. He was very flexible, allowing us to use the couch downstairs in addition to the futon upstairs. Our checkin and checkout times were not set in stone, and Scott worked with us and allowed us to leave after they had in the morning.
The house is in a nice neighborhood in downtown DC, and very close to the National Mall, which is why we were in town. Took us maybe 30 minutes to walk, to there from the Smithsonian Museums, it is also a couple of blocks from two different Metro stations. The nightlife is quite bustling just three or four blocks away with quite a few bars and some very nice restaurants.
This place was just what we needed after a long day's walking and traveling. And Scott and his girlfriend were accommodating and friendly. I would gladly stay here again, and will look to book it if I visit DC in the future.
Scott and Mitchele were great guests. I did not see them much because they were busy with a wedding, but they were quiet, clean and respectful. I would definitely host them again.
