What you see in the picture is what you get. Our family stayed 7 nights and we had a good time in this property, especially the tub was great for kids to play once we came back from long journey. Parking was free and time to time I had to park 3 blocks away at night (11PM) but plenty parking during the day. Shopping, food, activities, beach, etc… were close by and most importantly it was “clean”. Property had two coin washers and dryers in the back of the building outside. It wasn’t the greatest machines but it’s there and just careful at night for huge cockroaches near machines. Also, there is actual coin-laundry place one block away from property. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone visit Hawaii.
Super great location. Very close to everywhere. The unit is well equiped with almost everything I can think about, salt, pepper, sugar, bowls, spons, even beach matt and beach tower are provided. The only problem is that the air conditioner of the cafe down stairs is sometimes noisy. But I am not noise sensitive so it didn't bother me. Really enjoyed my stay.
The pictures where brighter and with a good panorama lens shot. It was everything fine but not so big and bright as on the pictures. We was three people and get bath towels and bed lainen just for two. After two nights we get the third set. Summary is: all good, but communicatin and pictures could be better or more accurate. We travel a lot with airbnb and it was the place where it was the moste impersonal.
However the value for money is fine and the location is greate, with the care you are a few minutes from Wakiki.
Our stay at this cozy one bedroom place was great!! I have to admit it looks much bigger in the pictures, but for 3 people it was exactly what we needed! Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We did not get to meet Chifumi or Daniel personally but their property manager was great.
My parents stayed in the main bedroom and stated the bed was pretty comfortable; the pillows however definitely need to be updated very little support. The pullout bed in the couch was where I stayed and that was surprisingly comfortable, but again the same issue with the pillows. There is a TV in the small living room and its very small, maybe the size of a large computer monitor, but we didn't spend much time watching TV so it wasn't a problem. WiFi worked great. Kitchenette was a great resource to have. The stove is electric and pots and pans are included, coffee pot and toaster too. Honestly, we went with the idea that we would be cooking more at “home” but found such great restaurants nearby that our plans ultimately changed. If you end up sticking to your plan to cook, the Safeway is a very short distance away.
The BEST thing about the studio is that it is only about 10 minutes walking to Waikiki beach!! We would be up early and walk down to the beach and spend most of the day there. Tons of shops and restaurants there if beach bumming isn't what you want to do. Honolulu Zoo is right by the beach and they hosted activities 3 out of the 6 days we were there, great for kids! Diamond Head park is not far either. The Rainbow Drive-In is literally right around the corner from the studio. If you eat anywhere, EAT THERE! There is nothing I had that I did not LOVE!
One downside is that the place does not come with parking. We rented a car for the week and luckily did not have very much trouble parking on the same street or nearby but it was worrisome when the car was a little further away.
All in all, my family and I greatly enjoyed this place and Oahu in general. Can’t wait to come back and hopefully stay here again!
We had a nice stay at this little apartment; the biggest problem was the noisy pigeons starting up at 1 or 2 AM every night. :) Also some noisy dogs and kids in this densely populated neighborhood. The apartment mostly stayed cool on its own via the breezes, and the tile floor is easy to keep clean. Nice shower and a quite comfy bed. You can see Diamond Head from the toilet, not just the bedroom! Very fast and reliable wifi, which was crucial for us.
We had a car most of the time and didn't spend that much time locally, but everything you need should be within walking distance.
We had no interaction with the hosts at all, and have not heard from them since a few days before we arrived, but the property manager Khai seemed to be available. Easy check-in and check-out. Recommended overall.
We enjoyed our stay in Waikiki. The pros:
- The location is very close to Waikiki, the freeway and great restaurants.
- The apartment was very clean.
- Fast WiFi
- Plenty of street parking
- Hair dryer provided
- Laundry detergent & laundry basket provided
- Dish soap & sponge provided
- Daniel got us a refund the same day the dryer stopped working on us.
Unfortunately, we weren't totally satisfied with our stay. There is a lot missing in creating a nice, efficient space for visitors. The cons:
- No smoke detectors in the apartment
- The bed felt old, and the pillows were like cotton balls.
- We ran out of toilet paper a couple days into our week-long stay, and never heard back from our hosts (emailed & texted).
- The kitchen lacked basic essentials — no extra trash bags, terrible utensils, 1 giant dull knife, 1 giant pan too big for the apt sized stove. The big burner on the stove didn't work properly because it was missing the supports for the coils, so the coils sat too low to even touch the pan.
- Only 1 working dryer for the complex
- No iron or ironing board
- There were no hooks or rack to hang beach towels.
- The bathroom was missing a bath mat — scary for a pregnant lady such as myself. The last thing I wanted was to slip on a wet floor.
- Oversized or uneccessary furniture makes the space feel even smaller and awkward
This property was very convenient and beautiful. My husband and I stayed here for 14 days, while we were relocating to Waikiki. It couldn't be more perfect. We have a small dog, and she adored the property because it was a wonderful walk to Diamond Head and the Ala Wai Canal. All the people were real nice, and it's conveniently located in walking distance to the Rainbow Drive-In, 7 Eleven, gas station, Campbell's Market, Leonard's Bakery, and Safeway. We utilized the kitchen, and all the cookware was so easy to clean and easy to use, almost looked all brand new. The tub was amazing. I tried using it as much as I can. The internet access was super helpful, especially for newbies like us who needed help getting around the city. Definitely one of the best decisions we've ever made for our growing family.
We stayed 3 nights there in march.
- very well located near waikiki
- very clean
- well equipped with everything for cooking and a big fridge
- good wifi
But there are cons :
- very noisy apartment : we hear everything from upstairs family and the washing machine is just under the bathroom windows
- a bit pricey compared other rentals
- a bit small for a family or 4 people : dinning table is small with only 2 chairs. if it's rainy you need to eat inside it can be tight
If you are there only for sleeping it can be a good opportunity.
Nice place, recently remodeled, and everything you see in the pictures! AC was effective. Good location; convenient to get to Waikiki, Diamond Head, and KCC Market. Didn't have to park more than two blocks away. Rainbow Drive-In at the end of the street.
Would definitely stay here again.
