We are two creative people in our mid 30's, and adore our home and neighborhood, but are frequently out of town for business, and would love to have responsible, cool folks use our pad!
Anna and Tom were wonderful hosts who kept great communication. Their apartment is lovely, right across from a park and right down the road from the subway.
I put my mom up there for a week, and it was a wonderful experience: neat as a pin, convenient pick-up/drop-off of keys, clear communication, gorgeous spot. Couldn't be happier.
My in-laws stayed here for four nights and really enjoyed it. They thought the apartment was quaint and the location couldn't be beat. Communications with Tom and Anna were friendly and efficient. Thanks!
Just great! The apartment is as beautiful as it is in the photos. Very clean, confortable bed, well equipped kitchen for cooking. The "F" and "G" subway lines connects you easily with Manhattan, Brokling, Williamsburg, etc. Markets 24 hr open just a block from home. The park,( just the other side of the window!!) its gorgeus, specially for running, walking or cycling. Nice neighbords in the building and a cinema 1 block away. Anna and Tom were very helpfull and aware for us. We definitly recomend it!
If you're looking for something both comfortable and affordable, and also away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan or downtown Brooklyn, Tom and Anna's place is a good choice. They have a really lovely apartment directly across from Prospect Park--one of my favorite parks in the city--and within walking distance to coffee and pizza shops, a big movie theater, and a decent bar or two. Park Slope is also within walking distance (if you like to walk), or one subway stop away. I would definitely stay here again!
I just arrived home from an extremely busy but enjoyable 5-night stay in NYC. Tom and Anna's apartment was a great place to settle in after a long day. The location is great! A nice, safe community, fantastic Prospect Park immediately across the street, and easy access to the train into Manhattan. With only a 3-minute walk to the F&G subway lines, it was an easy 30-35 minute ride into Times Square. The apartment itself is the definition of cozy (perfect for a couple), modern enough without losing its classic charm, with easy 2nd floor access (elevator or stairs), and facing the park itself.
My biggest word of advice is to find a couple of hours at the beginning and the end of your trip to cross the street and explore the park. It's a great way to explore the neighborhoods along the perimeter as well!
Anna and Tom are lovely, interesting people and fantastic hosts. Their apartment is beautiful--filled with fascinating books and decorated with a unique mix of unrestrained color and restrained simplicity. It is extremely well located and perfectly kitted out with everything that renters could need. I could not recommend the apartment or Anna and Tom more highly.
I've known Tom and Anna for many years now and just stayed in their fabulous Brooklyn apartment. They are friendly, reliable, responsible hosts and have transformed their place into a lovely, comfortable oasis in bustling Brooklyn.
By renting from Tom and Anna, you'll not only get a wonderful place to stay right beside Prospect Park, but you'll also be helping two creative artists who must travel frequently for their work.
The location of this apartment couldn't be better. It literally overlooks beautiful Prospect Park. While staying in the apartment, I took regular morning walks in the park. There is a pond, a place for dogs to run, jogging and bike trails, fields, and many other things to enjoy in this relaxing green space. It's a wonderful way to recharge after a long day in New York, and all you have to do is walk out the front door!
I had no trouble finding free street parking beside the apartment (another huge advantage to staying in this neighborhood), and the subway is only a short walk away.
Tom and Anna love to cook, and you'll find their well-stocked kitchen a pleasure to use. Being able to cook meals for yourself or simply make a cup of tea or coffee is a big advantage over staying in a hotel. There is also a large dining room table perfect for hosting friends for dinner. Having access to laundry facilities is another advantage for long-term renters.
The apartment has been freshly painted in bright colors and is free of clutter.
This apartment is a huge bargain in comparison to most hotels and bed and breakfasts (even the bargain-priced ones). I stay in NYC frequently and have investigated a lot of different accommodations. You'll get much more for your money by renting through Airbnb. I highly recommend Tom and Anna's place!
