The most charming apartment in Paris and really with a great location. It was comfortable and has all the modern amenities you need for your stay in the city. Jean was in contact with me from start to finish and was the best host and made sure our stay in the apartment was perfection. Highly recommended!
Great apartment in a great neighborhood off the beaten tourist path. Restaurants nearby, metro, and plenty of parks for kids. Host was immediately available for anything we needed, and even gave us a crib for our infant.
Does have small elevator, but is far from apartment so we didn't use. 4 floor walk up.
Is truly the top floor, and attic. Very small attic bedrooms and shower with low ceilings.
Is not very kid friendly, especially with the hosts "very valuable" motorcycle and windows which he warns about right before your trip. Nor are the stairs to the bedrooms kid friendly at all.
The bathrooms are on some weird pump system which doesn't work well and smells when used. Two people can't bathe at the same time. Also, someone obviously smokes in the apartment sometimes, as you can occasionally smell it.
Wifi is intermittent at best. One must keep rebooting the router.
But overall, I recommend the apartment, host, and neighborhood.
My coworkers and I really enjoyed staying in Jean's beautiful apartment. It is spacious, clean and very charming.
I had a wonderful time with staying at Jean's apartment, the interior was beautiful and Jean who's a very kind host! The apartment probably was the most convenient place that I ever stayed. And the location was very close to two subway stations, easily to go everywhere in Paris. Love to go back again!
Recommandation a 300%
A superb experience all around. Jean was an accommodating and gracious host who made sure we were well-informed about the apartment and the neighborhood. The gorgeous, historic flat worked well for a group of 7, ranging in age from 5 to 76; the dining area and well-appointed kitchen allowed for some memorable meals at home. There's an elevator and 2nd internal staircase, making it possible for little kids and limited-mobility seniors to navigate the building. The location on a quiet street in the heart of the Marais made it easy to explore nearby bakeries, markets, restaurants, and attractions. We can't wait to go back!
Lovely. Jean's space is a beautiful, delicate place in a very central location. Very comfortable for the 5 adults who shared the space. Easy access to bakeries, markets, etc and the kitchen and dining area were a great place to gather in the mornings and evenings. Jean was helpful and kind.
My family and I spent a wonderful week in Paris, exploring the city and using Jean's lovely and well cared for apartment near Villages St Paul in the 4eme arrondissement. The apartment allowed 3 generations to co-exist without any friction at all. The neighborhood was full of good places to eat and shop - we cooked some and ate out some. I wish I was back there now. There are 4 bedrooms- 3 upstairs and 1 down. We put the elders downstairs (2 over 80 years) so the nighttime trips to the bathroom would not be difficult and the rest of us upstairs. Good ventilation and views over the rooftops evoking the 18th and 19th century. Jean was a superb host. I would go back in a heartbeat!
The location of this apartment worked incredibly well for us. It is a lovely, if very quirky apartment with lots of charm. 3 of the four bedrooms have VERY low and slanted ceilings. So low our 4 year old daughter sat up in bed one night and hit her head on a beam. Jean was very warm and helpful with local resources but we had a few key communications problems. For example - the apartment is not at all kid friendly as listed. It is complete with a spiral staircase with no handrail and the second staircase is as steep as a ladder, there is a motor cycle in the living room, chipping paint on the base boards, the kitchen and hallway have brick and tile flooring, the main kitchen cabinet is glass and does not close...the list goes on. Again it's a charming apartment but not a "luxury" apartment as listed or "modern" - it is rustic and beautiful.
Extraordinary apartment and a wonderful location. Jean was so friendly and helpful, it was a real joy.
Jean and his family were amazing and we loved getting to know them. They are a family that truly embraces the spirit of airbnb!
