I am Croatian, born in Toronto, Canada and live in Los Angeles, California where I work in the movie business! I spent my summers in Makarska as a child and would love for others to enjoy the glorious experience too!

I can honestly recommend this apartment in Makarska - it has all you need even during long stay (2 weeks in our case) and is really spacious and comfortably decorated. All what was written in the offer matches the reality + very nice and swift contact with the owner.
Very confortable flat with a wonderful view
We had a great stay there !
Elizabeth made everything easy
The apartment is very nice and spacious, with an outstanding view overlooking both the port and the beach bay. It takes some time to go down to the beach, and the way back is a 15 minutes walk uphill, but we didn´t care, since the large terasse and the amenities in the apartment repaid the effort in multiple ways. It´s certainly not the cheapest place to stay in Makarska, but we were 4 friends and able to share the costs, which to me made the stay definitely worth the price. BTW Valentina welcomed us with a nice surprise from her wine collection, which was appreciated very much :)
We spent a few days in this lovely apartment with my family and we were very delighted with it. This spacious, very well equipped flat is a perfect choice for those who want to make themselves at home during their holiday. My favourite was the terrace with an astonishing view of the city, the sea and the mountains. After a nice breakfast or dinner it was very hard to leave the terrace... you just sit there mesmerized by the view. The apartment is situated on the mountain, so if you wish to visit the city centre, car is recommended for lazy travellers. :) You can always park somewhere in town and start to explore the amazing nightlife of Makarska.
I gladly recommend it to those who need a nice and comfortable accommodation!
Solar, friendly, smiling, clean and polite ... Elisabeth is the perfect hostess, come back anytime!
I met Elizabeth in New York City when we were both studying in graduate school. She is smart, trustworthy, friendly, reliable - just a great person! I have used Airbnb as both a host and guest so I know Elizabeth to be the perfect host!
In fact, on my trip to the Balkans about two years ago in July I stayed at her apartment in Croatia, which she has just started to list here on Airbnb. If you are considering renting it I would highly recommend it! I asked Elizabeth if I could write a little review of my trip here- first off, it is a gorgeous, clean and modern flat on top of a hill with a balcony overlooking Makarska. I think she decorated it beautifully, It is romantic but also spacious enough for families. Markaska is a wonderful and relaxing beach resort town. Elizabeth's apartment is a short, 7 minute walk to the beach and there's a lounge/internet cafe with nice coffee and little convenience shops on the way. I was able to explore downtown Makarska as well as the more secluded, less crowded beaches around the tiny bays. I even went "cliff" jumping! There's many places to eat and I enjoyed peka, sladoled, pizza - and one of the best meals was at Restaurant "Ivo" also within walking distance of her apartment. There is lively nightlife in the downtown area. I checked out the cave bars and one cool little hidden "art" bar. After happy, sun-filled days in Makarska I walked to the bus station downtown and took the bus to Dubrovnik.
I can't thank Elizabeth enough for introducing me to this wonderful town and for a wonderful place to stay while there!
