The apartment we stayed in was very nice and a great size (very large!). We found it cosy and very convenient, only a short walk from the escalators leading up to the centre of the city. There is a steep climb up to the street, but that is what Perugia is all about! Elisabetta was very nice and welcoming. I would recommend this to others.
This was our best our best airbnb experience so far. Elisabetta is a gracious host who is so very generous. She makes you a delicious breakfast each morning, ideas of things to do and a beautiful room to stay in. The view from her kitchen table is unbeatable. We had many conversation about our travels (mostly in Italian) and just loved staying there. The apartment is exactly as shown in the pictures. When we return to Perugia we would love to stay with her again.
This review is based on constructive criticism, not a personal attack (my husband and I travel world wide and have stayed in a variety of accommodations). The host Elisabetha, we found on arrival to be helpful and attentive but we booked and paid for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment because this is what we wanted (as we were 3 adults). Both bathrooms have recently undergone renovations but unfortunately the second (larger) bathroom was incomplete... Leaving only the toilet useable. The functional one was only that... a very tight space consisting on shower, toilet, hand basin and washing machine, barely room to wipe yourself out of the shower. I would have liked to be advised via email prior to arriving about the bathroom situation.
The apartment itself it quite large, very roomy and good natural light, good location to the old walled city if you don't want to stay in the old area itself, but bare in mind the apartment is within a local residential complex therefore it is EXTREMELY noisy, doors slamming continuously, babies crying - fine it you don't like sleep, we were there during the Christmas holiday period so noise was expected but the continual main door slamming was too much and the apartment is on the 4th floor that is how much the noise carried.
We also had issues with the electricity cutting out... Apparently you can't use the dishwasher at the same time as the hot water system, this might be something to advise guests upon arrival instead of losing power in the evening, having to find a torch in the dark and locate the switchboard. The second time it happen we were unable to reset ourselves and had to contact the host - the main board in the basement needed to be reset - it was at this time she told us not to use the two appliances at the same time..
On a final note the kitchen utensils were all cheap, the cutlery not much better then plastic, the bath towels if they were that - over sized tea towels.
We if fact cut short our stay and left a day earlier.
The room we booked from Elisabetta was really truly amazing. It was very comfortable with an en-suite bathroom and a private terrace. Not only was the room very nice but her apartment was as well. The space, atmosphere and the views were well worth the stay. Elisabetta was traveling abroad when we arrived but her daughter was more than accommodating and provided very good recommendations for food within Perugia. The breakfast was very nice with different types of pies every morning. If we are in Perugia ever again and would very much like to stay in the space again.
Elisabetta is warm, gracious, charming hostess, and her modern, top-floor (yes, there is an elevator) apartment is lovely with outstanding views. She is a world traveler herself. The room she offers is comfortable and immaculate. Breakfast (full of homemade goodies) is superb. And we loved Perugia (don't miss the main Galleria Nazionale d'Umbria).
Her English is limited and our Italian is even more basic, but we got on well and by our second day I felt like we were old friends! I would highly recommend her home for a brief stay. Thank you Elisabetta!
I left feeling inspired by Elisabetta's place. The apartment was beautifully curated and had an incredible view. Very spacious and quaint. Elisabetta herself is a warm soul who was just a pleasure to get to know and talk with. Not only did Elisabetta do my laundry, but baked a fresh pie from scratch for breakfast in the morning. Only a few minute walk from the center of Perugia you cant go wrong. Truly a wonderful place and person and i would highly suggest it to anyone.
We loved staying in this apartment and it's proximity to the centre of the city. It was comfortable and Elisabetta left thoughtful personal touches. We appreciated her assistance with parking. Just be careful you don't turn the hot water off (in the shower/ laundry) by accident like we did!! Thanks for a great stay.
Elisabetta was a great host, welcoming us with a tour not only for the apartment, but also was in the neighbourhood. helping us was the groceries and house keeping stuff for our weeklong stay.
Apatment was cozy and confortable, sunny and well ventilated. Location is very good and Elisabetta made us fell at home. Apartment is in a quiet street, but not far from center, just some steps, which helps one keep in good shape.
We stayed in 3 persons and all of us just loved the place and used it as a base for exploring Umbria and Toscana.
Wonderful stay in a beautiful flat in Perugia! Elisabetta was a fantastic host and served us a delicious breakfast with homemade cake and yoghurt. Very clean and comfortable rooms, with access to a balcony with fantastic views. Thoroughly recommend staying with Elisabetta if you are visiting Perugia!
