I live in Pittsburgh.
Erica offers cozy space in an old house in an old neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The bed was comfortable. Everyday I walked over the Ninth St. bridge to my conference. It was a pleasant stay. I would do it again.
We had a wonderful stay and Erica was a great host. She even drove my friends to the airport at 5 in the morning, otherwise they would have missed their flight. The flat is very nice, nicer than the pictures suggest. It also offers a great view from the roof terrace. The appartment is in a nice location, restaurants and shops are nearby and it is only a short walk distance from downtown. I can highly recommend staying at Erica's place and hope to be back in Pittsburgh soon.
A good, quiet room, convenient to my conference location. Never actually met Erica but my roommate said she was delightful. Only down-side was the parking, which could be a bit dicey on the weekends. I'd definitely stay again.
Erica's BnB is comfortable and convenient to downtown. The spare accommodations, though in a neighborhood in need of TLC, were perfect for a visit where one needs to be in close proximity to the business district. Erica is attentive to one's schedule and down to earth friendly.
I stayed in the 2nd floor guest bedroom where the futon was comfortable. Two other guests were staying on the 3rd floor so I did not see those rooms or the roof deck. With a full house, coordinating the use of the one bathroom in the morning with your other guests is helpful to make morning meetings.
Erica is a very good host and I enjoyed my stay.
This location was perfect for me. Walking distance to work, supermarket, dining options, and a cute boutique. I am usually hesitant about sharing a bathroom, but this worked out. I had no complaints and would surely stay here again.
Room: comfortable futon, a/c. Simple and pleasant.
Building: historic 19th century townhouse, well maintained. Some great features include exposed wood support beams, 10-11 foot ceilings, exposed brick, and a claw-foot bathtub/shower. Fully equipped kitchen. Erica has decorated every room with a special touch making you feel like you're completely at home.
Location: Very good. Safe during the day. Multicultural and diverse neighbourhood. 1 block from Pittsburgh's oldest park. 1 block from a main street with lots of shops. 5 minute walk to supermarket. 15 minute walk to downtown. 15 minute walk to major sports stadium.
This was our first airbnb experience, and we were a little apprehensive about going for a room in a house vs private space of our own - but we needn't have been! Erica was incredibly easy to communicate with, very flexible, accommodating and friendly. The photos are accurate - the loft space has way more character than a hotel room could, being tastefully decorated with beautiful mid-century pieces. Great location too - we were able to walk everywhere without a problem. Would definitely stay again - thanks Erica!
I stayed for a month at Erica's guest room. Erica is one of the nicest people I have ever met. She is warm, friendly and often went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. The house is at walking distance to Allegheny general hospital and Downtown. Safe (website hidden) is well decorated and fully furnished. She gave me complete access to her kitchen/washing machine/other appliances.Room was cozy with a comfortable bed, study table and a closet. Wifi is great.I'd definitely stay at her place once again!
My parents (from France) spent almost two weeks in Erica's house and loved it. The rooms are cozy and charming. I am so happy I didn't book a hotel room for them, it would have been much more expensive and not a quarter as lovely!
I stayed in Erica's guest room for nearly a month while finding a place to settle long-term in Pittsburgh.
Her row house is located in Historic Deutschtown on the North Side, so there's some great German flavor nearby (I highly recommend Max's Allegheny Tavern). You'll also be within walking distance of a grocer if you wish to take advantage of the kitchen and a charming park if you want to go for a jog. If you're with car, it's super easy to jump on I-276 and get anywhere else in the city.
Erica is easygoing and knows the area well. She offered up a wide variey of hints and (website hidden) that led to a lot of fun during my stay. Chances are good you'll wish you had more time to hang out with her.
Eric was so much fun! She was easy-going, friendly and just plain fun to talk to. As a guest, she was considerate and pleasant. I wish she had stayed longer!
