Diego is a great host, very accommodating. His place is great! Very comfortable and in one of the best locations to see Madrid. I can't recommend it enough.
We had such a lovely time in Madrid and staying in Diego's very well located, sun filled and clean apartment. He wasn't there and neither was his flatmate, so we had the place to ourselves. Walking distance to great areas for eating, drinking and galleries too. Short walk from the metro. Loved Madrid and will definitely be back!
Although we only met once with Diego, but he's nice to us and very helpful. His apartment is near the centre of Madrid and very close to everything esp. Reina Sofia Museum which has Picaso's original masterpiece!
We enjoyed living in Diego's and we're very happy because he allowed us to use his piano. Had a wonderful journey in Madrid and this place is very recommended.
The housekeeper is kind and friendly, the apartment bright, new and quite big and cheap. It's a very lovely place even if a little bit in disorder. We had a wonderful staying in Madrid, we were alone in the apartment except in the last night when was with us a very kind student that lives there. The zone is the very caracteristic Barrio de Lavapiés, with lots of cheap tapas locals and only ten minutes walking from the museums (Prado, Reina Sofia, Thyssen), from Atocha station and a quarter from the central Puerta del Sol, that is also located only at one metro stop. The metro stop Lavapiés is 2 minutes walking from home. You can use the kitchen and that is very good. It was quite clean, at the 6th flour but with lift. We both suggest it.
When we arrived by train Diego's apartment was only a three blocks away which made it very easy to walk to. It is also an easy walk to some of the major museums, shopping and tapas bars and restaurants. Diego was very helpful in making us feel at home. He had a booklet of a Tapas festival which was starting that night in his neighbourhood. The street infront of his apartment building is very lively but his apartment is on the top floor and in the back of the building which means it is very very quiet!. It was a perfect haven for our two days of exploring Madrid.
Thank you Diego.
We were unable to meet out host personally. The room was smaller than expected but comfortable. The neighborhood was with much activity but we felt safe.
The place of diego is not far from the atocha train station and terminus of the airport express bus, so very easy to reach. It's in the lively neighbourhood of lavapies, very near of the paseo del prado with the three top musea: the prado, thyssen and reina sofia. the room was not very big, but very calm and with air condition, a big plus. At night it was very quiet and there was a window screen so you could make the room totally dark. I met diego at the beginning of my stay, he was very friendly and helpful, he even went with me to the station to look for information. I didn't see him again for the rest of my stay.
I would definitely choose this apartment for many reasons
Firstly,it's (website hidden) is centrically situated in the barrio of Lavapies,a very lively neighbourhood with many bars and restaurants, walking distance from Reyna Sofia and the metro Lavapies.
Secondly, although there are many people every night in this area, the apartment is very quiet because it is on the 6th floor.
Last, but very important,Diego is a great host. From the first day i felt like home.
